New raid bug?

My son and I got victimized twice by a raid bug. Is this a common bug? First time it happened, I beat the raid boss, but my box was full so we did a trade and I deleted the traded Mon to free up space. I was then unable to catch the Boss because the gym displayed the "raid complete symbol" (ie the rhydon skull symbol") . All that happened within 5 minutes, thus the raid was not over / timed out. It appears the trade somehow triggered the end of the raid. My journal did not show "boss ran away" nor a successful catch. The next day same thing happened to my son, who had a full box, did a trade and same result ... no bonus chance to catch the boss.

Hope Niantic fixes this ... it is easy to avoid by freeing up a slot before hand, but sometimes one does a raid in a hurry or forgets.
