Good buddies to walk?

Hi, I’m a bit unaware of the meta as of late. I’m level 38.
Who should I really be walking as of now? I want only meta relevant attackers and defenders. Is there any Pokémon that I should focus on?
I already have elite Machamps, Tyrans, Blissey, Dragonites, Metagross, milotic. Maybe a Gen4 Pokémon to get candy for? Thanks!

I've been walking Kirlia

I feel like it is more likely to get a CD as togepi has to be hatched.

The starters with CD moves are very powerful, both in raids and PvP. How are you fixed for candy for Torchik, Mudkip, Sceptile, etc.?

Do you PvP? If not, it's an easy way to get Sinnoh stones. Think about building a lineup for that, and figure out what you need to get for that.

Before a few days ago I would have suggested Swinub, but with a CD coming, you'll have more than enough candy.

How about Rhyperior? Solid for both Ground and Rock, but frankly, most experienced players should have a lot of Rhyhorn candy. Garchomp looks good, but isn't out yet.

Look at what you need, and go for it.

If you want sinnoh stones, you might want to just use 10 cp mons in PvP.

I'd say Gible, but its not out.

Theres no relevant defenders left, metagross, milotic dragonite and blissey are the best and you have them.

I'd say, aside from gible, who I recommend buddying the second you get one, theres not much to aside from maybe magnemite as its top tier electric attacker as magnazone, but we dont need them much as kyogres back now, but its good as a defender from metagross. Other than that, possibly Rhyperior-line, though it also could get a CD sometime down the road for either rockwrecker or drill run/another ground move. And community days, as I will say later, largely neutralize the candy benefit from walking before hand. For comparison I took about a month to get around 30 candies for my tyranitar by walking, in one CD I earned over 20 times that even before trades

I dont have any recommendations for what to walk, only what I dont recommend, ralts is the big one, its a hard counter to double fighting machamp, and little else. I spent about 2 months buddying mine and now regret it as that distance could have been spent on my tyranitar or dragonite because I thoght gardevoir was going to be great, but I didnt need to. Togekiss does its job better on defense, and it has little use on offense, even against palkia, the dragons stats are just too elite for gardevoir to match. Gallade could hold promise if given better fighting moves, but most think they will get a community day down the road, which roughly neutralizes the distance you'd walk, and the resulting trades will give an overabundance of candy

I'd say perhaps Bagon, but it also may get a CD, theres really not too many options I can think of at the present moment

I will never regret walking my Ralts, who has become a jack of many trades (but a master of none). Before Machamp solos became trivial, she played a crucial role in many of mine. There are few better suited to taking down the many Dragonites (and recently Salamences) in gyms in Singapore, where cloudy weather is common (and some players like to use Fighting-types on gym defence). Despite having less neutral bulk than Togekiss, she has better defensive typing and her candy is more accessible, so she will not lose her place on my gym defence team. She anchored my team for the Latis and will anchor my Palkia team.

Why do you think gardevoir has a better defensive typing, just out of curiosity.

Gardevoir, and togekiss both double resist fighting, and after meteor mash metagross was released, that didnt help them.

Always found SA moltres better as a machamp counter personally, reliable resists everything it has.

Get ready for CD and walk a Swinub. You might want to evolve a few for general or PVP-specific purposes and maybe max some of them if you feel boss-like (I'll with 6 high IV ones for a full best ice set). There's also the itch to evolve some shinies you might get if they get released as well. Depending on their level and how many you want, you might end up needing maybe 300+ candies only to anywhere in the thousands. I have run my numbers and based on my current situation I will need AT LEAST 3000-3500 candies to meet my personal goals, but there are few of us on that beastly game style spectrum and I am already well-stocked on swinub candy so I have no need to buddy one for candy.

Oh! And as far as I know, they haven't announced what Mamos' exclusive move will be so there's also the possibility of having to unlock a second move on your mamoths... Assume nothing, but be prepared for everything!

I mean, you pretty much have everything meta...
I am walking Mewtwo just for lulz 'cause I don't need anything else atm.

You're planning to max 12 even before we know if the exclusive move is even useful?

I have a few thousand candy but I doubt I'll ever need most of it since maxing Mamoswines is only necessary for the Ray solo, which I don't think Niantic will let us try.

The exclusive move is just the ice on the cake on what is already the best-projected ice attacker in the game. Period. Of course, I won't max them until this is verified, but I won't be caught off-guard anyways, all I wrote was in response to OP's question.
What do you mean by that last bit about Niantic not letting us try the Ray solo? Are you referring to a lower tier raid day as we had with the birds?

My last couple of buddies have been azumarill and meltan (currently). If you care about PvP and don't have a switch.
Most candy is easy to come by hatching eggs, hitting nests and raiding.

You didn't provide enough information for recommendations, but seems you're fairly well set on the best meta mons already. If you lack something, walk that. Unless it's a legendary, then you need to consider the opportunity cost of walking the non-legendary you need the most.

My most recent buddies from newest to oldest: Riolu, Buizel, Riolu, Shinx, Togepi, Chansey. I don't need more of anything meta-relevant, so I've been walking the ones whose candy is the hardest to get otherwise. Pick any reason or priorization that makes sense to you, then choose your buddy according to that.

Sneasel.

Top notch Attacker for many of the potential upcoming Legendaries (the Psychic ones in particular), has only a 50candy/50,000 Stardust cost to unlock another Charged Move.
