Togepi Family Hidden Power

So I've heard from several sources that a Pokemons hidden power typing does not change, even upon evolution. Well, to my surprise I evolved my Togepi with Ice Hidden Power, into a togetic with ice hidden power, into a Togekiss with Air Slash. No big deal, I'll just Fast TM it back to ice Hidden Power. Though, to my surprise and utter disappointment, it was changed to FLYING hidden power. By far the worst hidden power typing Togekiss could have.

Anyone have any experiences with evolving Mon with hidden powers?? Was I mistaken or what??

You were mistaken.

I'm pretty sure you were mistaken and the type of hidden power rerolls with evolution. Initially seeing it be the same type was probably a visual glitch that got fixed with going back and forth with TMs.

It rerolls, with a chance of getting the same typing.

Thanks a lot, my best Togetic has Steel Hidden Power and O would like to change it.

I think what confused you is that the hidden power does not change if you TM it and then TM it back again. It's a random reroll when you evolve it, and just a coincidence that you got the same hidden power on the first evolution.

Probably this. Also in the main series games, Hidden Power type is fixed for each individual pokemon and never changes, so that could also be the problem if the source of the information was talking about another Pokemon game and not Pokemon Go.

I can confirm it is re-rolled upon evolved because my Togekiss got Fire Hidden Power while before it was something else.

TM does not change it though

Thanks. I was aware that you couldn't change the typing of the hidden power with TM's. I was just misinformed, or misunderstood the hidden power being re-rolled.
