How does Gym Hunter Work
If you click scan, does it update whats in Gym
or it in an app that someone must have on thier phone when they click on a gym to update it to thier website

They should just randomize all spawns for everyone...this will break all mon scanners.
Gym meta needs to be completely redone...rankings, diversity in gyms, swipers, skill actually needed, etc...
Make it like a lot of games where if someone attacks your gym, you get a notice to defend it in real time, maybe turn based combat (this will never happen of course like Pokemon Duel). If you don't respond, the computer will do it for you or someone "else" from your team can get a notice and they can defend, etc...
I think less people have issues with trackers since it doesn't affect them, but the gym situation is a problem as it affects your own game.
I've seen trackers for mons and didn't really care to use it, but if you are a deck collector, then I can see why you'd want to since most of those folks have already gotten bored/left already (my kids) so Niantic is sorta dropping the ball IMO to keep the game fun for a lot of folks.
Also, having these exists means a LOT of people are using it since in Asian countries, that's how they probably ALL play (like during Lapras event). If you don't play that way, you're at a disadvantage since you won't have as much candys/mons/gyms, etc...
As a single player game, it doesn't matter, but since POGO isn't single player, it messes up your and other people's game.
They really need to find a way to just randomize spawns and fix gyms and we will have a better environment.
I'm just going by what Trainer Tips showed on his trip to Japan...they have tour guides for Pokemon Go using trackers telling everyone where everything is.
Also, Niantic has done nothing to curb tracker use in those countries so whether it's lack of concern or culture based, it has nothing to do with having a side order of racism on my part.
I really think and also it was mentioned in his (Trainer Tips) video, right or wrong that some folks just play with them as a matter of fact there so unless you are from there and know it is heavily frowned upon, I have not seen the contrary so far.
Maybe someone can chime in from that area.
I didn't realize Gym Hunter showed Pokemon spawns??? It doesnt so Im not sure what the "random spawn" posts are about. All it does is show Gyms.
I actually was looking for a Crude Work Around for basic stuff that Nintanc should make standard in there game.
1) I want to know which Gym my pokemon is in.
2) I want to know which Gym a fainted Pokemon returned from.
Both of these, I feel should be part of the base app.
What gym hunter does is scans a area and shows you what Pokémon is in the gyms in the area, what trainer owns those Pokémon, the CP and their rank in the gym. It also shows you the history of the gym such as the pokemon and their trainers that were kicked out of the gym.
The problem with gym hunter is that if no one scans the gyms then the site does not get the data so there can be weeks of gym history missing because no one scanned it.
There are better apps that can actually show even move info such as the movesets and IVs of the Pokémon in the gym too
Well I just checked out gymhuntr to see what the fuss was about - no info re: spawns of PKM, just locations of gyms. Seemed pretty accurate when I scanned some areas where I knew there were gyms, and could see my Defenders. However it showed that there were several gyms in a park I had never been to, but it wouldn't update them, so I drove out and found out that 3 gyms it said were there don't exist! Which is weird since the site showed a history from a last scan 3-4 weeks ago. Does that mean Niantic is removing some gyms? Or just bad data at the gymhuntr site? So perhaps message is take it with a grain of salt.
Also BTW, the site does show exact IV and movesets of the defenders, it was 100% correct on mine. Scary..
