Gym Prestige Warning

If someone spends 45 minutes pristiging their own "teams" gym to place a pokemon in it there should be 1 minute for the person doing all of the work to place THEIR GD pokemon in the gym!! Hear that NIANTIC?? At least give a notification that you have pristiged enough to place your pokemon in there before you get robbed by your own team.

The sh!t part is that your OWN TEAM screws you. Mystic, Valor or Instinct there is no real fair play or team spirit.

Niantic must want us to quit trying to get into gyms because they have to pay out coins. Less people trying means less coins to give out. SAD!!

Someone might get caught stealing a level 10 gym one day from someone else and get taken behind the tool shed and end up with their phone shoved up their...

These COINS are money. As ridiculous as that sounds, you are actually losing out on coins which means then you have to PAY with your own money.

Niantic better fix this issue before some pokemon go players get their names in the paper/news/internet over someone being an a-hole!!!

This has been mentioned and complained about a lot and is a bigger problem than gym swiping after a rival gym has been taken down due to more time consuming to prestige a level 7+ gym spot...

That said, 45 minutes really? I'd suggest studying how to prestige faster because if it takes that long even for 10k prestige gym, it's probably not worth it and more people are bound to notice the slower you do it.

I have done about 8k in 10 minutes if the defenders are not Snorlax and my phone doesn't crash...

I have also been swiped before as most others have even if you are super fast about it since people keep clicking on the gym...

It's a *$#k move and I don't do it myself if I see someone else prestiging.

Those are 2 big "if"s. I'm lucky if I get a third battle session without restarting the app. At least a third of the time prestiging 8k is restarting the app.

Yes very discouraging to be swiped out of a gym - The first time happened to me was under the old rules where could only bring 1 pokemon to train - I spent about 30' training up to level 9, and then didn't get in fast enough (a drive-by I think, gym was in range an intersection with stoplight, otherwise no one around). So I spent another 1/2 hour getting to level 10, and I guess it was worth it because that gym then lasted for weeks! Just recently I had a gym snatched after getting it to level 10, and then no options to do further training so just have to move on. At least Niantic fixed the problem with the swiping of a taken down gym, not sure if a similar solution could work for prestiging (eg if multiple people do some prestiging around the same time).

I suppose it is more difficult to implement - you sometimes get multiple people prestiging a gym together. Also most of my prestiging is opening up an extra slot for other players when I've already got a mon in the gym.

I propose a rule:

(1) regard the time from gyms last level up or 30 mins, whatever is shorter
(2) The player, who contributed most XP in the time period (1) gets 1 Minute exclusive right to put a pkm in
(3) after the Minute for (2), any player, who contributed XP in the time period (1) can put a pokemon in
(4) after (3), gym is open for all.

Maybe add an option for the prestiger to forfeit their minute. Not sure how code-able this all is? But it would be good if they could implement something as it really is poor form.

This is awful, especcialy since there seem to be some gps-spoofers that somehow specialise in taking arenas that are just being trained.
has happened to me already a few times in places where i can easily see if there is someone else training.
It's already bad when some gps spoofer tears down a gym and puts his own color in. But if it is the own team, you then must remember who was in the gym before that happened to know whom to report.

I got sniped once by an obvious drive-by. That's the worst kind of sniping. I felt like chasing him down and just ramming him from behind; insurance hassles be damned. Good thing I took a few deep breaths first.

If you spent 45mins training gym for 8k, i'd say that you are using too high cp pokemons. I have made by myself lvl 1 gyms to 9 lvl in 75min against my 2700 vaporeon.

You are prestiging wrong. Use pokemon the same CP or lower than the defending pokemon and you wont be sitting there for 45 minutes just to open up 1 slot.

Generally, you should be able to see if anyone else is also in the area. Communication is important. Ask them which pokemon they plan to place in the gym. Maybe it's better to let them place theirs first cause theirs will make it easy to prestige the gym even further. Or maybe it will be better to place yours first. For example, having a flareon at the bottom of a gym makes it easy to prestige, if someone intends to put something else that's even lower than the flareon, try to convince them to wait till you think you've gotten the gym to a high enough level.
