Help ! I can't win consistently using bubblestrat

Hi !
When I bubblestrat with my 10 cp weedle against my 14 cp kadabra I just spam the attack button and I only have about 70% winrate (even with the new input buffering).
Am I missing something ? because this cost me a lot of revives and I start to think it's not that worth :/

The IV on your Kadabra is probably too high compared to your Weedle. A few other trainers, including myself, find that the Horsea (bubble) vs Diglett (mud slap) defender vs attacker match-up works best. Hope that helps.

Suboptimal pokemon, bad IVs for the strategy and maybe bad battling could all be reasons for the fails.

Simply too bad pokemons for bubblestrat.
Try finding a cp<20 bubble pokemon: krabby, horsea and poliwag are the best. They can be beat with a variety of attackers: I'm using dratini with dragon breath, gastly with lick and abra with zen headbutt at the moment.

I have a cp10 poliwag with bubble and it works so far with my cp10 horsea. Should I power up the poliwag? Appraisal says its stamina is 8-12, so I'm afraid of it getting too high... but it'd be nice to get the faster prestige of having higher cp! How do you know if it's safe to do?

I'd suggest not powering it up as it's stamina is too high. You're best to find below 7 defence and stamina for your bubble bag and high attack for your attacker.
eg. this is the highest possible IV for poliwag vs horsea to earn 500 prestige. If poliwags stamina were higher it would fail.

Wow, thanks for the in-depth analysis! I will surely not power it up. I appreciate the help! :)

heh all these replies saying bad IVs, suboptimal pokemon. I have a 3 defense and 0 defense Horsea and Krabby but sometimes IF YOUR INTERNET is somewhat slow you will fail sometimes! Actually i failed a lot when i was just using my 3G data connection, so i have a reserve 15-20CP Magikarps in those types of situations, Magikarps are more reliable during these situations and it only costs 1 potion per 4-5 attacks.
