Idea: Special TMs!

Once in every 100 raids, you get a TM that will let you choose any move from any point of that Pokemon's lifespan in GO. (Except for moves that were removed in 2016 like RT/RS Omastar, Psybeam Chansey) You can choose whether it changes the fast move or charge move too. Add this please Niantic, I have a 98 Zapdos sitting in the box with CB/TB.... and a 97 Ttar with B/SE, and a hundo Metagross with B/FC.... S***.

Good idea, I'm tired of wasting CTMs on my Staraptor.

I actually think that could be a decent idea, but I think it would work better if ALL legacy moves could be learned (well, by that I mean a specific Pokemon's movepool).

This is an example of an idea that the poster only wants cos it benefits them.

This idea effectively makes legacy Pokemon worthless, but hey lets introduce it just cos the poster is bitter abut having some Pokemon without the very best moves!

It would also devalue Niantics legendary community days. This would mean they make less money. I don't think Niantic will do anything that costs them money.

Thank you very much ;)

I usually am spot on about Pokemon Go. But some people get offended by my outspoken nature.

For the record i have a 100% mewtwo without shadow ball. I'd love to give it shadow ball but i recognize the value of legacy moves.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried.

the poster wants because it benefits THEM, is true.

the poster wants because it ONLY benefits THEM is as false as false can be.

In fact, based on your post, you are as guilty of opposing the idea based on your own flawed logic:

"I am opposed to this idea because I have lots of legacy pokemon that makes me more special than others"

Personally: just because someone played longer they shouldn't have a permanent advantage. If TM for legacy moves were super rare.... like what if there was a hard to find field research that was "Delete 10 TMS" and when you did that you were awarded a "Super TM" that let you pick a move, and showed all legacy/eligible moves.... I'd be okay with that.

Older players would still benefit, they would still have more special pokemons, because they would have thier 6 Rock Ttars + Super TM on something else.

Newer players would benefit because they could use thier Super TM on Rock Ttar.

Y'all realize movesets change in the main game from Gen to Gen? It's the same concept.

Your idea is an improvement but it doesn't go far enough. Either level 40 Pokemon should have all their moves TM-able, or there should be a legitimate ''training'' aspect to the game where walking, attacking, and defending with a specific Pokemon can expand their movesets.

And they would need to make raids alot more interesting to get me to do 100 of them.

Agreed.

Making all moves available at Level 40 is a good place to start. Adding a "Training" aspect is something I've advocated on these forums for a year (or more; not sure when I actually signed up) for. Maybe a specific TM, maybe "Win 100 battles and choose your Charge Move". Maybe "Defend for 100 hours and chose your Charge Move". Maybe ANYTHING that doesn't rely on simple "R"NG.

Relying on "R"NG is okay when that's the only option you have (like the current TM's), but we've all been there in the middle of a frustration where we're TM'ing a Machamp between Close Combat and Heavy Slam, and 5 CTM's later we STILL haven't gotten Dynamic Punch.

So pretty much anything that gives more control to the Players is a good thing.

I'm in support of special TM's/HM's/whatever you want to call them that can grant exclusive moves from community days and raid days but including legacy attacks is too much imo. My rationale is that it doing so would keep people actively playing the game in the sense that there's less apprehension about saving potential CD candidates. It also benefits people who catch high-IV Pokemon after they've had their day. What good is a Charizard without Blast Burn or Metagross without Meteor Mash?

All three you posted would still benefit from it. Tyranitar not getting Smack Down isn't a complete loss, just change Stone Edge to Crunch. Dark will see more use this gen than rock will and Rhyperior and Rampardos are on the way anyhow.

The 3 hour events with exclusive and OP moves (compared to default), have surely introduced some fear/grief.

1) Many are afraid to evolve potential community day pokemon.
2) A single 3 hour event could practically render all previous or later obtained pokemon of that species useless.
3) Everyone, especially those often working weekends, will sooner or later miss out one or several "important" CD events.

Of course missing out on an CD event could be mitigated by trading afterwards. But not many have enough candy to evolve for example multiple Meteor Mash Metagross just for trading.
