Gengar though I powered up a Banette is well. It makes for a fun alternative if you don't have a Shadow Claw Gengar (though Lick Gengar is going to be the final nail in its coffin).

You can always start doing unique 6 solos or pokedraft, Banette is quite good there.

Lick and Shadow Claw are comparable. It is a standard EPS vs DPS question. Lick's higher EPS could allow you to use Shadow Ball sooner and more often, but if you end up dying too fast (it is a glass cannon) to use more charge moves then Shadow Claw's higher DPS would be better.
