Pokemons worth training?

I got some mons with good IV but not the attacks i was looking for and I'm having trouble deciding if I should power up them or even keep them.

Venusaur
15/15/11 (Att/Def/Sta) IV 91.1%
Attacks: Vine Whip and Sludge Bomb
I don't have many candies to make another Venusaur but I have a 88.9% IV Bulbasaur

14/14/12 (Att/Def/Sta) IV 88.9%
Attacks: Bubble and Ice Punch
I have enough candies to make another Poliwrath but I don't have yet a good IV poliwag worth evolving

Attacks: Thunder Shock and Discharge
I have some candies and other good eevees but I would prefer save them for another Vaporeon and Flareon

Let me know what you think I should do with these mons

Unfortunately, Venusaur is probably a no. Poison is actually a decent option for him on defense since it counters Fire, but on offense it takes away all your advantages (whole point of him is to counter water) and vine whip is def the offensive move.

Poliwrath is a yes, that's actually a great matchup for him on defense since it counters grass and dragon, 2 of the most likely types to be attacking him. Not to mention flying, another type weakness for him.

Jolteon no - there aren't really any electric mons worth putting dust into at the moment. They're only used for training gyms due to low cp

That's what i thought but I wanted to be sure, because I don't have many candies and it will be a while until I can make another one. I'll just wait and hope for the best next time

You sure it's good enough? would't it be much better with Hydro Pump? Or Submission?
I can wait for another Poliwag with good IV or mas this one. I have plenty of candies

  1. Don't bother. You would Ideally want Vine Whip + Solar Beam for offense OR Razor Leaf + Sludge Bomb for defense (although both Solar beam and Petal Blizzard can work well)
  2. I would personally prefer submission, but Ice Punch is still a great defense moves to counter Grass, Flying and Dragon attackers. Too bad it's so easy to dodge...
  3. Jolteon is only good on offense, and for offense the ONLY move you want is Thunder. Don't bother at all.
