TDO discrepancy between google sheet and searchable database

I was trying to evaluate some Pokémon moves, and noticed the TDO on the searchable site is not the same as the TDO listed on the google spreadsheet. For example, on the searchable webpage, Blissey is listed as P/HB 814, P/DG 714, ZH/HB 699, P/Psychic 671, ZH/DG 637. On the google spreadsheet, the numbers are P/HB 728, P/DG 617, ZH/HB 650, P/Psychic 583, ZH/DG 560. Some moves are ranked higher on one source than the other. Which database is more current and/or has more accurate formulas?

Hi,

I assume the "searchable webpage" refers to [https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/comprehensive-dps-tdo-ranking] while the "google spreadsheet" refers to one of the three external spreadsheets linked in this page [https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/tdo-how-calculate-pokemons-ability].

The two pages are maintained by different people, and there are minor difference in their respective assumptions, mathematical models, and parameters, hence the discrepancy.

As for which is more accurate, the lazy answer is: whichever produces closer results to simulator's is more accurate. We haven't conducted any full-spectrum test for either page, nor do we plan to; We are putting our focus on improving just one of the models continuously.

Thanks bioweapon! Yep, those are the sites I was referring to. Probably not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, I was just updating my Pokémon labels in order to have a simple way of gauging relative strength. Sounds like I should continue to use the searchable database at [https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/comprehensive-dps-tdo-ranking]

bio is very humble, but let me be honest here and say: I am the one who used to do the TDO page, and I think the comprehensive spreadsheet is more accurate since it is the improvement of the TDO page :) So your best bet is the numbers on the comprehensive sheet. That is also the model that we are working on improving at the moment.
Cheers!

Thanks doublefelix. I thought it was interesting how certain movesets flip flop, such as Blissey P/DG is 714 on the searchable page, and 617 on the comprehensive sheet, while ZH/HB is 699 on searchable and 650 on comprehensive. Quite a bit of difference within the realm of Blissey, although both movesets are still far ahead of other Pokémon.
