What to do with your best iv mewtwo?

Don't get me wrong. I like mewtwo and raid mewtwo with free pass. However, I just intend to catch a mewtwo with great iv (>= 96%) then I'm done with mewtwo raids as there are almost better alternatives for every current moveset of mewtwo (except psychic mewtwo).

With the public mewtwo raid, the last point, rarity of mewtwo went away. Therefore, mewtwo become more than ever a trophy if it is of great iv.

What would you do with your best iv mewtwo then (while put aside the SB mewtwo)?

'Mewtwo become more than ever a trophy' - sorry but this statement is total ass.

I already have an 89 w/ Hyper Beam and a 93 w/ Shadow Ball. Also have an 89 with Focus Blast. I just want a good one with Ice Beam, one with Psychic, and a final one with Thunderbolt. Don't care too much for Flamethrower. Oh and I want candy, lots and lots of candy.

Before the recent announcement, I had my best Mewtwo set to Psycho Cut/Shadow Ball (a 93%) and my second best to Psychic (91).

But then, knowing that it would go legacy, I put them both on Shadow Ball. So, with the new raids came new moves. I've done 27 raids since M2 became T6 instead of EX and I have a 100 and a 98. The former is set to Psychic and the latter is set to Ice Beam. It would be cool to have one for each of the useful moves. But these three moves are of most importance.

Well, I want a 96% or higher too. Or three, so I can have one for IB, P and FB with excellent IVs. I caught 13 Mewtwo in the EX system and for a long time none of them where over 80%. Just by the end of Mewtwo's availability got a 93% and 84%. My only ever over 80% IV. Right in time to TM them to SB.

After that experience I'm really hoping to stock up on top IV for all the useful versions of Mewtwo (IB, P, FB in this order by personal choice). And enough candy and rare candy to power up my 4 regular IV SB-Mewtwo. That's actually a lot of candy needed and Mewtwo will become even rarest than it was before after this month.

If I were you, I wouldn't stop raiding just yet.

Ice Beam Mewtwo is currently the best ice attacker in the game and Psychic Mewtwo will be the best psychic attacker in all generations barring broken movesets on psychic mons with worse stats. FB Mewtwo is also the 2nd or 3rd best fighting type attacker in the game currently. That's quite a lot of options to have it do something relevant.

I'm not powering up any non-SB Mewtwos until I have a use for them, but I'm prepared to make an IB Mewtwo should ice become a relevant attacking type, like with a rerun of Rayquaza.

I have enough others (4x Shadow Ball, 2x HB for novelty, and a FB) at varying IV that I could do what I wanted with one. Given that I'm not sitting on CTMs, and rarely use my Mewtwos, I would keep the charge move as is, except for Flamethrower. The other 4 moves have uses, as detailed in the latest guide. Ice Beam > Psychic > Thunderbolt > Focus Blast for me.

I’m mostly doing these raids for Mewtwo candy and raid rewards. I got a 100% IV Mewtwo that currently has Confusion/Psychic but I might TM it. I’d like a high IV version of each, but what I really want is a good Shadoe Ball Mewtwo. My only Mewtwo with shadow ball is 12/15/13.

To actually answer your question;

I would power up a Confusion + Physic Mewtwo. If you have one (or maybe two) already of decent level, I'd power one ice beam to level 30.

This is just plain wrong. The fact that it's the best at several roles makes it more than a trophy. A trophy would be something like a 100% shiny Growlithe - cool to brag about, will likely never see use beyond showboat reasons. Mewtwo kicks ass regardless of IV.

I have several with Shadow Ball - in particular a 93%, a 91%, and a 78% that was my first and only for several months. The rest are trade bait. For his run as a regular boss my plan is to hoard Mewtwo candy and hope for a high IV one I can stick Ice Beam on, maybe Psychic if I feel like it.

Even the Thunderbolt moveset is solid - it has lower DPS than Raikou with Wild Charge and Zapdos with Thunder Shock/Thunderbolt, but it has a higher DPS than Raikou with Thunderbolt, even without STAB. So, while it's not the very best lightning attacker, it's certainly in the conversation, and it doesn't have that pesky weakness to ground (or all the weaknesses flying pokemon get). Definitely a potentially useful pokemon, the question is whether it merits rare candy or not.

The current Mewtwo is different, and still useful. And if one does a lot of raids this month, very little to no RC would have to be spent on it.
