You'll need Facebook to do this, unfortunately. But take heart! This means you can help mess with the Facebook Algorithm.

Step 1: Choose someone you loathe. Maybe even Hate. Guesstimate their Birthday so that you're in the marketing "age bracket" (Has to be above 13, though, so 14-17, 18-24, 25-33, 34-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-65, 66+)
Step 2: Use this as the "Birthdate" for your Pokémon Go account, as well as their general characteristics (age, sex, marital status, etc.)
Step 3: Transfer your Pokémon Go account from one email to the next.
Step 4: Think of the most annoying or aggravating or offensive stuff you can that is still allowed on Facebook, then put them as you "Likes". (Make sure it's as contradictory as possible.) Describe yourself in terms that are absurd, like "Atheist Sufi Jewish Unitarian GenderQueer Sharia Supporter; my Pronouns are Pika and Chu. Vote Republican!". Find a picture of someone that best contradicts everything you can possibly find and use that as your profile picture.
Step 5.1: Spend an hour on Facebook looking for the craziest stuff you can find - and like it ALL. Every page you go to, Like it. On occasional pages, Like it but leave a negative comment like "I voted for Ted Cruz in 2015 and it was the WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE!". (Bonus points if you're leaving this comment on a non-US, non-English Facebook page that has nothing to do with Politics at all - like a page dedicated to raising Ants in South America or something.)
Step 6: Remember the person in Step 1? Check their public Facebook page to see if they're complaining about getting stupid thing recommended to them by Facebook. Things like "Why is Facebook recommending Metamucil AND this PVC suit all of the sudden?" If not, repeat steps 4 and 5 until you're bored.
Step 7: Delete Facebook from your phone.

Don't look at this as a burden - look at this as an opportunity to tell Facebook what you think Facebook should be recommending to people!
