Which Water pokemon is the best fighter?

Hi! I got myself a Gyarados(Bite/Hydro pump) and a Vaporeon(Water gun/Hydro pump).
Their IV and CP are probably close.
I also look up their primary stats in the site,Gyara got more defense but lower stamina, while Vaporeon got less defense but higher stamina; what a dilemma.
Now I wonder which one is the best water type attacker.
Since I'm running out of pokemon space, so I'm trying to clearout the unused.
Please help me out Thanks!
