If we get Mewtwo Day, what would happen to EX Raids? Deoxys would not entice trainers to spend; only Arceus would, but that would require at least a partial Gen 4 release.

Shiny Snorlax, Shiny Mewtwo, Shiny Mew, regionals unlocked and in the wild for a month, regionals as raid bosses for a month are all possibilities. But the real answer is whatever Niantic thinks will make them the most money.

I highly doubt it will be Mewtwo. EX-Raids are a huge source of income for Niantic and there are currently no contenders to take Mewtwo’s place in them. Some people have suggested Deoxys, but as-is, Deoxys seems pretty bad. It’s also nowhere near as iconic as Mewtwo, and will have four forms. That means people would have to continuously raid at EX-eligible gyms, show up for an EX-Raid just for a 25% chance at a useful form or form they need.

JK, in all seriousness, I really hope its not mewtwo, because that could likely mean a change in EX raids and I have none near me (I already have 3 mewtwo, got them before I moved back to college, away from the EX gyms) but If they dont change the EX raids, i'd like a mewtwo day. Lugia day I wouldn't hate, I never got a lugia, period

Common sense says to me that must be Rayquaza (and shiny).
But... it's Niantic.

Everything seems to be pointing to a Mewtwo Day. All the other bonus unlocks were gen one legendary days, and this is the last one. It would give a way to get a shiny Mewtwo, and an exclusive move, that doesn’t make Shadow Ball Mewtwo irrelevant. Psystrike is a very slow two bar move, it will just make Psychic Mewtwo worthless. Shadow Ball Mewtwo will still have use.

And it will will give everyone a chance to get a Mewtwo. And give a chance to switch the EX raid system. I am guessing Arceus. Nothing else would make sense at the moment. Deoxyes would be a good special research task, giving us four new tasks for each version. Which is what they should do for the lake Trio in Gen IV. I don’t think they will be good Raid bosses.
