More wild Larvitar due to Johto Event

Have seen 10+ wild larvitars since the Johto event launched. I think it's safe to claim the Larvitar spawn rate has been boosted.

Caught a pupitar, plus 5 larvitar today. Pretty safe statement.

Still deciding which research tasks to keep on keeping, “evolve 3 sunkern or natu” seems too much for a pineco. Battle a raid for a Porygon is ok...if I’m set to do a raid soon

If you do two or three of the natu/sunkern evolution quests at the same time it isn't so bad. I have done three x 2 quest batches and got a shiny pineco out of it.

I currently have three raid for a porygon quests lined up. Had two lined up for yesterday's raid, two for todays so with my three tomorrow that is 7 porygons from 3 raids.

Agree. Struggling to find good-value research task. Thanks to historical stock-up Natu candy I can still give some more tries for shiny Pineco (not sure if shiny rate is higher or not from research reward), but other than that nothing good. Porygon is ok but at most raid once per day.

Pineco is a potential shiny and it sure looks like it has a boosted shiny rate from the quest, which makes it very much worth doing. Aerodactyl quest required evolving 2 Kabuto/Omanyte, for which having a previous candy stock was much harder.

I have 550 Sunkern candy and “only” 300 natu candy. I don’t catch every that I see, whereas generally catch exeggcute (1600 candy + I evolve and trade a good number of Exeggutor).

As advised above, getting 2 or 3 pineco tasks before evolving would help and not be such a chore.

I'm down 1,4k Natu candy already despite pinap catching them during the event, the quest is so common it's pretty easy to deplete your stores. Grouping them is definitely the way to go.

The larvitar rate is awesome. So far I have managed 6 larvitars and a pupitar. I am annoyed by all the catch 3 sunkern as even though it is sunny here, I have seem more larvitars than sunken today...2 to 1.
