Although a bit unrelated, Regice is one of the best counters vs Rayquaza and Regirock is one of the best against Moltres, so not suprising. Don't duo or trio using them however.

The death blow of course is that you need to spend RC on them to reach an acceptable performance. Usable in those raids if you powered them up for personal reasons, that's about it.

1. You will not get the friendship bonus if soloing.

2. You've set the fight to be a lvl 40 regirock vsa lvl 40 moltres.

The moltres you are fighting in your sim have:
CP 32,496
Lvl 40
HP 7,500

A Moltres raid boss has:
CP 41,953
Lvl 50
HP 12,500

The Moltres that would pop on a "Moltres Day" following the same pattern as Articuno and Zapdos (you know, 3h window, 5 free passes, all gyms have it as raid boss) would have 7500 HP, not 12500 HP.

The assumption about friendship is of course correct.

The click bait topic is saying tier 4 Moltres boss, BUT Regirock gets 300 sec instead of 180 sec. Obviously this is happening in partly cloudy and SD/SE Tyranitar wins 25% faster than Regirock

7500 - 180s = 41.67/s
12500 - 300s = 41.67/s

It's exactly the same.

So does that mean a smack down tyranitar could also solo a moltres in those conditions?

True, but its DPS is much higher to the point where it compensates the lack of bulk. Running 100 sims via GoBattleSim against a T4 FS/HW Moltres, Tyranitar averaged 23.09% TDO compared to Regirock's 22.07%.

Given it has higher DPS AND TDO the answer should be glaringly obvious.

That said, I don't even know where OP is getting that Regirock can solo it. Unless I'm missing something obvious it looks like the battle times out around the 55% damage dealt mark for Regi.

He gives Moltres the tier 4 HP. However, OP is giving Regirock 300 secs to battle that tier 4. Tyranitar SD/SE time to win could be as low as 225-230 sec in partly cloudy. Nothing new in this thread. Tyranitar supreme, Regirock in the top 5.
