Infinitive Gym Levels and Max Gyms per Trainer

Recently, I 've seen many concerns raised against bots/spoofers. Niantic has implemented the robot checking screen but somehow it can't stop spoofers who play both versions (official and hack) simultanously.

The second concern is that the game is losing its attactive and its players too. Besides some events, in which some currents are not very innovative and lack of incentives for players like: new babies, 1hour lures, special boxes full of lures and incenses...

So I come up with the ideas of:
1. Max gyms per trainer: One trainer are limited to hold a certain number of gyms at a time, let say 12-15 gyms max, this will limit spoofers from conquering too many gyms. Niantic can apply this policy easily without any help from other service providers. No one needs to hold more than 10 gyms at a time when he/she is set a limit of holding and receiving poke coins.

Infinitive Gym Level: No max level 10 gym. One team can train a gym infinitively: 3 first levels will add 2,000 prestiges each; 3 next levels will require 3,000 prestige each; from level 7-10 will require 5,000 prestige each, 10 more levels requires 10,000 prestiges, 10 more levels (level 21-30) will require 20,000 prestige each and so on....
With this plan, high level players will have the incentive to build higher gyms; a cheater with two different accounts won't need to kick the lowest pokemon out to put his pokemon in; infinitive level gyms also mean many more players can stay in one gym. If Niantic applys this two proposes, bots and spoofers will have no more advantages, old and new players will re-join the game.
As a level 34 player, I find it really attrative to build my gym high and challenging other teams' high level gym: taking down a level 3 gym is for beginners, I always love to see/challenge a level 9-10 gyms though they will take me from 30' to 1 hour to beat them down.

1 is good, there should be a cap already. 2 is an horrible idea, absolutely horrible idea. That would give spoofers immense power not the other way around. I dont think you realize hardcore spoofers typically have a ton of accounts. My neighborhood spoofer has probably over 50 accounts. With bubble strategy every spoofer gym would be 100+. Horrible idea.
Honestly I liked it when it was harder to build gyms with a 500 prestige cap. Smaller players could hit gyms and spoofers ability to control gyms was negated. Of course it was impossible to collect on 10 gyms but it should be that way anyways.
Or they could program the game to check altitude when entering a gym. GPS hacks dont have access to this type of info and they cant scrape data from Google. This would effectively prevent spoofers from entering a gym.

I would probably pass on your second idea. If a gym can be trained to infinity, it would be almost impossible to take it down. Not all trainers wander the streets alone. Good for those who play as a party. A lone trainer even with adequate resources would probably think twice before tackling a level 27 gym for example. 10 Pokécoins for X amount of potions and revives isn't really enticing. Niantic already did something to tackle the problem of having untouchable gyms. While it really doesn't address the shitty gym mechanics we have now, it works. In my own humble opinion, this idea will make it worse.

Training a gym is a challenge but battling opponent gyms is much more than a challenge, sometimes it can be a race among you and your teammates. Imagine when tackling a level 3 gym, the game gives you six strongest pokemons, that's too boring. But when you face a level 10 or level 20 gyms as you mention and you only have 6 pokemons in your hand, you can race with yourself (if you are alone) or with your teammates on how many pokemons you can take down in one round and how long you can take down the whole gym. My friends and I even compare how many pokemons you leave fainted after the battle as revives are rare resourses.
I think the core of any pokemon games is battling: catching, raising, evolving, powering up your pokemons... all for battling. So why do we have to be afraid of battling?

Can someone explain to me what spoofers/ cheaters whatever they're called in this game have to gain? Like you get some free poke coins whoop dee doo? I would assume all spoofers completed the dex and how many poke coins do you need? Your bag/ storage maxes out at 1k? I would assume lvl 40 wouldn't be hard for them? Not completely understanding why they're so invested in the game to continue to spend time on it lol. I still play to complete the dex and the gyms are a way to get free poke coins without spending $. Hopefully to get that elusive Lapras from an egg lol.

Number one is not good, since spoofers has many accounts, they can take the gym and use another account to beat itself down; but taking Pokécoins at any time is a good idea, just you have to wait 21 hours for the gym's you claimed Pokécoins taken.

Number 2 is good, but not infinite. If in rural areas, spoofers will make the gym level 100 or even more! It should be capped at 100000 prestige maximum, which is a level 15 gym. After 50000, 60000/70000/77500/86500/98000 prestige should be used for increasing the gym level.

Yeap,

So I propose level up a gym in a ladder pattern:
- level 1-3: + 2,000 prestiges each level,
- level 4-6: must have 3,000 prestiges for each pokemon added,
- level 7-10: must have 5,000 prestiges for each pokemon added,
- level 11 - 20: 10,000 prestiges for each pokemon added,
- for each 10 level add to the gym, 10,000 more prestiges for each pokemon added.
On my own experience, with a strong prestige team, I can gain ~4,500 prestiges each round, so a level 30 gym will be totally possible. Only after level 30, it will be harder as it will require trainer to train at least 6 rounds to add his pokemon in.

wow dumbest idea ever. what if the spoofers join forces? what? you ginna crybcoz you cant conquer the gym bcoz its guarded by spoofers? hahaha. and what this will make real players and legit players lose in this game bcoz of spooferi

How can they guard the gyms? When we talk about spoofers, we talk about all three side spoofers, Mystic has spoofers, Instict has spoofers too... Also don't ever assume that spoofers are overpowered to us. I have watched many spoofers who don't know which movesets is for attacking, and which is for defending, and when training gyms they use those six pokemons assigned by the game and yield only 100-200 prestige points per fight.

2 would be bad simply because Bubblestrat can make gyms simply too high level for anyone to ever bother...Instead of 30-60 minutes, now, you can be looking at 2-3 hours which would suck for everyone.

I've always supported 1 to limit to 10 personally. Also, change it so 40k knocks out 2 mons instead of 49k kicking out the bottom to make alt-account sniping more work (no more knock down to 49k, prestige 1k back to 50k).

I do think having 10 spots is going to annoy more and more people as they get to levels where they start playing gyms (I'd guess around 20 they do this regularly). A lot of high level 10 gyms are full all the time and you have to be lucky for a spot to open up.

Like idea #1. We can only collect 10 gyms. There's no point to control more than (so I would probably reduce them to 10).

Idea #2 would kill my interest in gyms. Too much effort for the little reward. But specially too much time that I couldn't afford to invest in the game.

In any case, the game needs big incentives to be introduced to keep users motivated. Once you fill the pokedex there's little else to do. Gym system is tedious - plus discouraging when you face spoofers

Agree with majority of posters. 1 = good and 2 = horrible. Teams would have no incentive to attack other teams gyms. I would join the 10 gyms and sit in my advantageous Mystic gyms at level infinty for eternity.
