Alolan Raichu Challenge

Alolan Raichu is raidable with only one Groudon if the following requirements meet:

- Groudon is level 40 and has nearly perfect IVs (at least I recommend that).
- Groudon has to know Mud Shot and Earthquake, its other moves are not viable.
- Charge moves have to be dodged.
- In neutral weather only Spark movesets and VS / TP are raidable, other Volt Switch sets tear Groudon apart.
- In sunny weather every moveset is raidable.
- In rainy weather only Spark sets are raidable.

The true challenge hear is Psychic, 'cause it is the only move that Groudon doesn't resist. So I did a few sims with different Psychic sets:
- In neutral weather 3 times out of 5000 sims, Groudon was able to win against Spark / Psychic. (VS / P is impossible)
- In sunny weather 5 times out of 5000 sims, Groudon was able to win against Volt Switch / Psychic.
- In rainy weather 2 times out of 5000 sims, Groudon was able to win against Spark / Psychic. (VS / P is impossible)

Because I don't want to believe the sim all the time, I'm setting a challenge for someone to solo Alolan Raichu that has Psychic in the following conditions:

Neutral weather (no boost for the attacker or for the raid boss):
One L40 Groudon (with MS / EQ) against Spark / Psychic. Dodge charge moves. Might require fast move dodges.

Clear weather (weather boost for Groudon):
One L40 Groudon (with MS / EQ) against Volt Switch / Psychic. Dodge all possible moves. Otherwise won't survive.

Rainy weather (weather boost for the raid boss):
One L40 Groudon (with MS / EQ) against Spark / Psychic. Dodge all possible moves.

And that's it. Only a video of the raid counts as a proof. As long as nobody proves me wrong, I'm rendering Psychic A.RAichu impossible to raid with only one Groudon, except in sunny weather.

I don't know how to tell, if A.Raichu has Spark or Volt Switch, so you have to come up with a way to reveal that on your own. Psychic might be recognisable by what the AI puts in your recommended party.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNND

If someone wants a somewhat easier challenge, then try to raid A.Raichu with only one Tyranitar in the following conditions:

Fog weather (weather boost for Tyranitar):
One L40 Tyranitar (with B / C) against Spark / Psychic. Dodge charge moves. Might require a few fast move dodges.

Fog weather (weather boost for Tyranitar):
One L40 Tyranitar (with B / C) against Volt Switch / Psychic. Dodge all charge moves and almost every fast move.

According to the sim, Psychic sets are the only sets Tyranitar is rarely able to survive against. Out of 5000 sims, Tyranitar was able to win 41 times. Though the challenge might be easier than the Groudon challenge according to the sim, it's not easy to find a day with foggy weather (or that PoGO would count it as foggy). For example, I haven't seen fog weather in PoGO since the launch of the weather system.

Go out there to hunt that surfing Raichu and spend your passes in vain trying to complete these challenges!!! (Muahahahahahahaaa!) Have fun :D

Thanks for the link, so it seems that almost everything has to be dodged to be able to win. I don't know how the sim was able to win by dodging charge moves only.

When a boss has a full energy bar it has 50% chance of firing a charge move every turn. When you run a few thousands Sims, you will get rare lucky cases where he fires a lot less charges than usual. You can see it if you go into the battle logs of those Sims.

Well, I understand that it does happen for real too. I've had some cases when beating a gym, over 3000 cp Blissey fired only one Dazzling Gleam before fainting out. And usually she fires at least 4-5 Dazzling Gleams before fainting. So I understand your explanation. And the reason why I ran 'dodge charge moves only' was, 'because sometimes my time was up for dodging everything, when it actually needs those fast move dodges to consistently beat the boss. Sims just cannot entirely replace how a real person plays that situation.

That's correct, it can happen in real too. I have had difficulties with timing out on Psyshock Jynx solos in the past that ended up with a lucky win with 20s left after 3-4 attempts. That's kind of too variable if I either time out or have plenty of time left.
