Wild Pokemon holding berries?

Nope.

Could you have possibly given it a berry then run from it? It will still have the berry when you tap it again.

This! I have come across the same thing recently. Today alone I caught 3 each already holding a Razz Berry. I too thought I may have tossed them accidentally or forgot but on one encounter I placed my phone down after touching the Pokemon and when the encounter started there was already a berry attached. So I can confirm this is actually happening but have yet to find out if it's an instant effect or it adds to your inventory like in the original games when Pokemon held berries and you could unequip them. Anyone, thoughts?

I started having this happen a couple of days ago, can't find anything about it- which is very frustrating as I tend to stay on top on new information in GO. Most has the Golden Razz Berry beside them, and I know I hardly use them unless it's a shiny or a legendary.

I actually just ran into this. I'm thinking what happened is someone was trying to catch the Pokemon and use the berry on them and then the Pokemon fled that's my only Theory either that or they just randomly spawn with them now

Update: So far I have had this happen with each berry type except Nanab berries. It seems to not affect your stock nor have an instant effect (I.e. berry count going up after capture, in the case of a Pinap berry no increased candy count, or increased capture chance from either of the Razz berries). So I am going with a glitch or future broken implement.
