Increase first buddy spawn?

I just got an in game notification that for the next while there will be an increase in spawns of my first buddy pokemon. Did anyone else get this? It isn't too exciting for me as I think my first buddy was a vulpix (was trying to finish up my pokedex) but for anyone that started with a snorlax or lapras this is pretty exciting.

It is not your first buddy, it is the second part of the Christmas event, the mons that will spawn more frequently are Bulbasaur, Squirtle,Charmander and their respective evolutions, the Kanto starters.

It said partner Pokemon, I take that to mean the
first captured Pokemon: Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur.

I read that wrong haha thanks for clarifying. I chose charmander so that works out :D

I take the announcement to mean any of the starter pokemon - I stared with Charmander, but so far have encountered about equal numbers of all of them (no increased Charmanders, and I still need about 25 candies to evolve my 98% (sadly low-level) up to Charizard).
