How good of a kyogre counter is FP venusaur? is it worth powering up just this event? are there any notable breakpoints?

That would make sense, but its also non stab, and venasaur has some bulk, that may be a problem for egg dragon however

I guess you weren't here when kyogre was a raid boss, blizzard one-shot every grass counter, STAB or not. Only high level Raikou and maybe groudon can tank it out of kyogre counters.

Back when scanners were working, we would actually target Thunder raids and avoid Blizzard. Blizzard just hurts so bad.

He is still the best non-legendary vs. blizzard (DPS*TDO). Raikou is better. Jolteon and some legendaries are comparable.

Should be noticeably better than Solar Beam Venusaur and Eggy.
Among grass types, FP Venusaur and LB Sceptile should put in a lot of work

Uh...yes, frenzy plant venasaur is one of the best grass type attacker, and it also will have use against Groudon, as likely they will be doing a ground type event which venasaur will also dominate in
