Should I recharge a Gengar ?
I have a IV 15-15-12 Gengar with a pretty good moveset : Shadow claw-Sludge Bomb.
I have the capacity to refill it till my current level (34) but I don't know if it worth it.
Gengar Users ? Gengar Lovers ? Gengars Haters ? Tell Me ? Is gengar a good pokemon in Pokemon Go ? Is it a bad Pokemon ? A very good one ? A very bad one ?
Feel free to tell me your advice ;) . Because I love Gengar but I never really played with it in Pokemon go :)

I have one with shadow claw and sludge bomb as well, it's a great moveset that hits hard, you just need to dodge and it will dish out damage pretty quickly.
With the current gym meta game, gengar doesn't like fighting psychic or itself (weak, yet simultaneously super effective against both) but resists grass and poison (along with other types).
Overall, it's not a staple in my party but i've maxed it out for my lv (32) and it does work man. It's a fun switch up that doesn't slow down the momentum of the gym battle. If you have enough candies and you're willing to trade over stardust, he's fun. In terms of finding a better gengar, i'd stick to that one and max it out (and only risk rolling on 100%/ iv gastly's). Hope this helps ~
Gengar is a lot like Alakazam. Strong attacker with weak HP and no clear matchup. I powered up an Alakazam all the way to 2500 CP but find myself never using it unless I just want to mix it up.
Most gyms have either Gyarados, Vaporeon, Snorlax, Dragonite, Exeggutor or Lapras. All of these have better matchups with higher HP than Alakazam or Gengar.
Hey guys
Thanks to you all for your answers. I know what I am going to do now : I'll power it up after the Christmas event as long as I don't get 2 more interesting Pokemon during the event.
I spent 20 € in pokecoins and I'll get a lot of incubators (about 24). After all the hatchings I have planned (About 80-85), I'll have something like 550 000 stardusts. So I think I'll power it up. But right : I need to train a little bit with it.
Thanks again :)
