Future Dialga Counters

One of my absolute goals for this game is to get a powerful Dialga when Gen 4 hits. As such, I've been slowly preparing a powerful 'mon-base so that I can take Dialga raids by storm. Wanted to share my thoughts/plans, and see if you guys have any additional thoughts on this future raid. Hopefully Dialga won't end up getting the Ho-oh treatment when it finally drops.

Lucario
Assuming high enough attack (I don't know the attack conversion for Go) and a solid moveset, I could see this guy being the best counter to most Dialga variants. Assuming we see steel/dragon as quick moves and steel/dragon/? as charged moves. It resists both STABs and hits back super-effectively. Of course I'm betting that its rarity will be on a par with Gardevoir when released.

Groudon
With weaknesses to only Fighting and Ground, and a SEVERE lack of good ground-types (most other ground-types worth mentioning will be weak to Steel), Groudon is likely to be the best ground-type counter out there. The best counter period if Gamepress buffs Earthquake or gives us Precipice Blades.

Machamp
It's Machamp. Need I say more? Low investment, high reward. Have 3 high-leveled, will have 6 at LV40 by the time Dialga drops if it's still an optimal counter.

Gallade
I've seen many say that Gallade will be the usurper to Machamp's throne. Worth it if the moveset is right, and I've already got a 100% male Ralts ready to go....

Garchomp
Risky VS Dragon movesets, but if Garchomp gets some good ground-moves, then might be a good non-dragon counter.

Blaziken
Only worth it on Steel-type movesets (unless it has some off-the-wall third move), but could be solid in some cases.

Emboar
Same as above, but a bit more iffy. In the main games, it's physical attack stat is SLIGHTLY higher than Blaziken's, while its special+physical stats combined are SLIGHTLY lower. It also has better overall bulk with SLIGHTLY lower defenses but a fair chunk more HP. Again; niche given good movesets.

So, think that I'm missing anyone? Any thoughts on this theory-craft (aside from "man, you're thinking about something that probably won't happen for 8 months minimum. Get a life")? Think Niantic will pull through and actually make the system more interesting and less "DPS IS KING AND DOT IS QUEEN" than what we have now? Let me know.

...oh, and groudon jumps to the ABSOLUTE #1 spot if we get megas/primal reversion. PrimalGroudon is a beast.

Since you are slowly preparing right now, I would make Machamp and Groudon your top priorities as they should be the best counters that are currently available and Blaziken would be a nice back up to have since it resists steel. Also you did not mention it in your list but Hariyama would be a good second option as well and now is the perfect time to grind Makuhita since they are everywhere right now. As for future pokemon, I would not consider Emboar since it is gen 5 and everyone else's usage is mostly dependent on what their moveset will be. You could also add Infernape to the list though since it is also fire/fighting.

I think you could add Infernape and Rhyperior to this list. I know Groudon is the King of Ground types but we need to remember that Rhyperior will have enourmous stats (even with it’s weakness to steel might be useful in dragon movesets)

Rhyperior definitely belongs on the list of potential counters, even if it's unlikely to be better than Groudon or Garchomp.

Infernape has a base attack of 222, so it needs quite an amazing moveset to compete (C/DP is already one of the best movesets in the game over all types).

GP already has the stats for gen 4 pokemon if you search for them. Lucario has projected stats of 236/144/140, meaning very slightly higher attack than Machamp but MUCH glassier. So glassy that against steel moves Machamp still lasts longer even though Lucario resists them. Additionally, Lucario can't learn DP, so it's going to need a moveset shakeup to get better DPS.

Gallade is in the same no-DP boat. Has potential, but needs a good moveset.

Blaziken is only slightly more durable against steel type attacks than Machamp. Probably not worth the drop in DPS if your Champ army is ready.

Emboar has 235 base attack in POGO. High, but not that high, and it's gen 5 so irrelevant as a Dialga counter.

Rhyperior is an obvious miss, likely much more available than Groudon and Garchomp with very high stats.

A team of Machamps and Groudons is the best you can make right now and gen 4 mons need some serious movesets on them to outclass either one.

Lucario may be hatch only - I doubt Riolu will spawn in the wild.

Since we're including gen 4 Mons as Dialga counters, Conkeldurr could be a good option as well if it learns the right moves (someone correct me if Conkeldurr is not a gen 4 Mon).
With a projected CP of 3305 (243 atk, 172 def, 210 sta) and the potential to learn counter/dynamic punch, it could very well become the new top fighting-type Mon and a very strong Dialga counter.
