Increased drop rate for Evolution Items?

Are others seeing significantly increased drop rates for evolution items? For the past few weeks I have been getting several each week. On my 7th day first spin, I just got two (Metal Coat and Upgrade). Does anyone know why this is happening? For current game I have no need for more EIs and throw them away once i have 6-10 of each, so these are only crowding my badly overcrowded item bag (maxed out already at 1500 with app. 700 RC and 100+ gold raz)

For me it seems to happen 1 week out of the month where I'll get a bunch of evolution items. I ditch them right away, and don't carry more than 2 of each. Just in case I get a perfect of the Pokemon that would require one of the items, and 1 just in case we need them for the next mythical quest

I haven't seen anything unusual regarding evo-items drops in my account.

I've never spun 2 in 1 streak but I have gotten several from random spins this year. I noticed that at the beginning of Gen 3 though
