My pokemon came back from a park gym with no shelter, during a heavy thunderstorm

I thought all spoofers have been banned already? And no way it could have been someone on a vehicle.

100% confirmed spoofer. I continued to defend the gym with my other account, and the attack continued for 30 minutes. No legit player in their right mind will continue attacking in heavy thunderstorm, even with umbrella.

If you weren't there I don't see how you can say it's 100% confirmed. Some people have clothes and phones that are pretty water resistant.

Only the users of a single (albeit apparently popular) iOS spoofing app were banned, all other spoofers are still roaming free.

Now, I would also say that there's nothing to prevent a crazy hardcore player from playing during a heavy thunderstorm. Ziplock plastic bags can keep your phone completely dry and gym battling doesn't require precision control of your screen. I've played more than a few times in rain and blizzard and while it's not exactly pleasant, there's definitely some satisfaction to be gained from braving the elements.

The spoofers are back, they only got temporarily banned.

what, you mean someone plays in the rain, I'm not saying its not a spoofer, but there's no reason it can't be a legit palyer. I don't like spoofers, but I hate this witch hunt to try and find spoofers

Or someone with GPS drifts.

Very good out of the box answer! I have one phone with poor GPS which can attack gyms 200-300 meters away.

However, the spoofers may be the real culprits ... they never went away and probably never will. Don't believe the hype / fake news you read or see on you tube. If one hack app gets shut down another will soon take its place. I see them effecting gyms in my area on a constant / daily basis.

As I've seen on several phones, gps drift do not allow high pace attack, since it do not drift to one point for indefinitely long time. Of course one can't be 100% sure but spoofer/legit attacks pretty much distinguishable from drift attacks.

Spoofers were never banned, only a handful of players got their access blocked on iOS and many weren't even spoofers lol

I love how people assume spoofer because they're scared of the weather. There are numerous ways in which you can play in the rain. Umbrella and plastic bags are one. Some phones are waterproof.

Also, not all spoofers were banned. Mostly IOS users were hit. Android still spoof with impunity.

Git Gud.
