100% IV Ditto

I got one today. Is it something to be happy about or useless? It was a Pidgey.

I do not know what to think about it...

Power up it to max.

I'd be ecstatic personally, and fully level it up (which would be 38.5 for me).

But that's just me. I'll trade you for it? ?

When I find a ditto in a gym, I attack it with a magikarp, then switch attackers and squash it.

It might be more interesting on attack.

There a calculator here that shows how dittos CP after transforming is determined. He is actually quite useful, especially for defense imo.

A Ditto useful for defense? Use a Magikarp as first attacker to let Ditto transform then switch to a Dragonite, you'll see how useful Ditto is for defense :)

Unless the player is not planning on attacking all the way through the gym anyway, then they have just handicapped their attacking team by doing that. Ditto is not a great defender, but that is also not a really great attack strategy.

I put an attacker I will be using later up front, then switch to something with a type advantage. Also since Ditto's HP remains the same, you can use something like Vaporeon, which normally has high HP as its best trait.
