If Blastoise gets an event

Kyogre has 89, or close to 50% higher attack stat than Blastoise.

I doubt even Hydro Cannon Blastoise doing 250 damage in 1.5 sec will out-DPS Kyogre.

Based on the progression, squirtle seems almost likely to be the July community day pokemon. Even with a super-high DPS move for blastoise, Kyogre's base stats are so much higher that it wouldn't be overtaken.

You should expect a maximum of similar dps to Gyarados. Kyogre is way out of it's league

Blastoise with Hydro Cannon (assuming Frenzy Plant specs) can't outperform current Swampert or even Vaporeon.
Only saving grace would be; glasses squirtle. Since shiny color variant isn't also visually appealing.

How sad. If you have ever seen blastoise in the anime perform an hydrocanon it's so cool and look so strong. It doesnt make any sense that pogo blastoise is so weak.

I'm hoping it gets a Steel fast move instead of trying to fight for a spot amongst the amazing water types. All we need is yet another amazing water type to throw onto the pile.

Alas, I don't think there's ever going to a move good enough to make Blastoise viable as a DPS attacker. His attack stat is far too low.

I think they're better off making Hydro Cannon a 3 bar charge move, with 80 Power. Then, it *might* have some use as a gym sweeper or a defender, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
