Kantoccupation is over. How did it go for you?
Not since Hoenvasion have I had so much fun in an event. Just the fact that this time we finally got the long-overdue double-candy event made it so much worth it to me. I dont think I'll ever need candies for any Kanto species ever again (except regionals) and I finally got to max my best legendaries which were put on hold until I could transfer the rest of them. That aside, I think the execution was on point on Niantic's part with the added introduction of quests and the very first mythical Pokemon to fill the final missing spot in the Kanto dex. Community day is always a nice touch. Throughout, I also coincidentally got 5 new 100%'s, 4 of them through quest rewards.
This event was superb in my opinion and I wanted to know what you guys thought about it. Did you like it? Which were your rarest or best catches/hatches/dex fills? Just show off and share your experiences.

Really enjoyed it too ! The Classics always have different feels for me, and Kanto pokes really nails it. Got my Mew quest finished during the events, and done some "dex filling" raids with my fellow friends, notably aerodactyl and kabutops.
Hatch some very good eggs too; at one point I hatched 3 larvitar in a row (during com-day) and got over 180 candies in 1 go so that's something. All in all, an awesome event
I actually took advantage of this to fill a bit my dex for Kanto but also Gen 2/3 by evolving some I couldn’t before like Politoed and Bellossom. Plus I have quite a bit of Gastly and Machop candies and finally after nearly two years got a dang Victreebel and Dodrio which is actually my only 100% I’ve caught but I don’t play much
I loved it! Didn't add anyone new from Kanto to my dex, since I was just missing Mew and Kangaskhan. Double candy was amazing, and I'm 1000x more prepared for Magnezone now than I was over a week ago, which is great.

4) L35, 14-14-13 Gastly (prompty evolved into a 2398CP Gengar)

Wish I managed to pick up more Grimer candy! That's my only gripe really.
I enjoyed hunting down doduos which are normally rare (though the quest gives them too) and mankeys (also can be found in quests) but didn't manage to get a good female doduo to evolve, and the mankey I evolved wasn't the best either but I wanted that Primeape dex entry. Also found a 96% Gastly which is now a double ghost Gengar.
Got a lot of starter candy and even hatched a good Bagon to finally evolve into salamence.
Caught a 100% Machop from the spawns in my house, he is now a Machamp named Saitama and is my new gym demolition leader.
Hatched a 100% Treecko which is now a Sceptile. Now I have heaps of Treecko candy to power her up.
I enjoyed fighting Kabutops, I always wanted a raid of it.
The increase in regionals allowed me to catch more Zangoose too.
Also caught pinsir and ivysaur, which don't normally show up around here. There was a Flareon next to a post office but it was night so I didn't go there to catch it.
I will miss this event though.
Even though I don't save transfers for double candy events it still prompted me to do some inventory cleaning and shave out unnecessary copies of rares and the like which was quite nice.
Got a ton of candy for many species, gained about 1,5k Machop and Magikarp candy and 250 Chansey candy to name some.
Filled many spots on my L1 final evos collection that were super hard to fill before because I started the collection late into gen 2.

Good event, had a ton of fun and I wouldn't mind seeing the Karp spawnrate stay, still need 100 big ones for the medal. Also glad that its over so that "catch 3 Swablu" and some other quests become reasonable again.
I only ran into one new Tier 3 but it was fun (Kabutops)
-Got an almost perfect lvl 34 Rhyperior candidate
-CP 1075 Machop
-Got enough Karp to get Mew plus 500 surplus candies
-Found a lvl 35 Kabuto with good IV's
-Put a big dent in Steel badge with Magnemite
-Best part was I got to witness some lower level friends getting their first Gyarados and Omastars, etc.
On one hand I loved it. On the other hand, I've been playing since Sept 2016, so I HAD all the Kanto I needed so this was a week where I pretty much stopped catching anything but Machops and whatever was weather boosted or required for Research Projects. (which, amusingly enough, I got pig headed about the "Catch 3 Pidgeys or Murkrows" project and resolved to finish it instead of deleting it because I didn't see a single Pidgey between Friday and Tuesday. Not ONE Pidgey.)
It was nice to catch a Moltres with double candies, and to get Mew with double candies, but all in all, this wasn't an event for me. It was an event for players who started after Gen 2 was released, and so it was a "Meh" one for me.
On the bright side, I never need to catch or hatch a Machop below 100%, I can power up both of my %100 Machamps to level 40 and still have more than 500 candies left. Which is nice.
