Special plans for hitting L40?

I'm 200,000 XP away from L40, and with the double XP event, I'm going to hit the milestone in the next day or two. I'm wondering what cool things trainers have done to put them over the mark. I've heard of evolving your starter, but unfortunately, I transferred mine long ago.

My plan is to finally evolve my 25CP, 100% Pidgey, in honor of all the hard work Pidgey has put in over the past two years.

Yet to reach the 40 club myself, but someone I know evolved a shiny Magikarp (his first shiny) to bring him over the edge. This was a few months ago, when shinies were just that little bit rarer than they are today.

I renamed and kept the pokemon caught to "Club 40" which brought me to L40. One day I might max it out which will probably be the date of my retirement from the game. haha

I also evolved a 100% Pidgey to put me over the edge. Seemed fitting.

I like the pidgey ideas but may go with eggy instead. Never pass up exeggcute!

Alternatively, I may be timed just right for it to occur at the EX raid this Friday. That also seems fitting.

I mass evolved when I hit level 40 during last double XP event. I foubd it fitting, because it helped me a lot grinding to level 40.

I plan to hold a special party with close friends and players. We'll have a Pokemon GO themed cake to eat, as well be embroidering "40" on all my clothes. But most importantly, be posting on forums how utterly important it is that I do it right.

I'm about 1M away and will reach 40 in the next week. On Jan 26 I set a goal of reaching L40 by April 16th. I will have managed that handily. But now I'm at bit at a loss as to how to do it as well.

My starter is Bulbasaur (which I'm thinking of evolving on Community Day - but I'm not waiting til then to "turn 40"). I think it would be cool to have a maxed evolved starter with an exclusive move. Maybe I'll try and find a C/DP Machamp to Solo since it was my first successful solo all the way back on July 14th. I can even resurrect the original team (I surprisingly have all 7 of them).

If it snows maybe I can try to Duo outrage Ray, lots of options but we'll see.

Hit lvl 39 on december 30th, set the goal to get to lvl 40 before the first of March. During the event, this dragonite hit level 40 for me. It's even captured on film, because somebody wanted it to show her friends :) It wasn't planned tho, we just wanted to hang out with our group that day. The shiny seems fitting, just because we did what we aways have done; Having fun, grinding, with all three teams :)

Most of my game time, especially before the gym change, was spent walking and hatching eggs. As such, when I hit level 40 I did it by hatching an egg, not by a mass evolve or such.
