What should I put in the first slot in Machamp raids?

After evolving my Dratini, I nearly completed my Machamp (fighting moves) team, but this thing bothers me:

I wonder I should put Alakazam or Gengar, since Gengar takes little damage from the 2 Counters in the beginning, but Alakazam has higher DPS, which is more suitable when the raid boss starts with 0 energy.

Note: is it better to use Confusion and get off 1 FS, or to use PC to get off 2 or even 3 Future Sights?

Edit: ran a few simulations and I have enough DPS if not dodging, but even I dodge, my whole team can still faint, or dodging too much and possibly running out of time.

Why are you using Gengar in Machamp raids? Its moves are not super-effective against Machamp. Machamp may have Steel-type moves that will absolutely shred Gengar due to its fragility.

Of course I am talking about Dynamic Punch and Close Combat.

Nowhere in your post is that obvious, nor can you assume you will encounter Machamps with the moveset you want.

In either case, Gengar is a terrible choice. Solo raid is more about maximising your damage output than it is to minimise damage received.

I always go with 1 bar glass cannons to start (Alakazam in this case). It guarantees the boss starts on 0 energy and means I have a higher chance to land the charge move without getting dodge-glitch rekt.

Gengar is not exactly terrible except against Heavy Slam, but I wouldn't recommend it unless it had shadow claw and was at least level 30.

I would go with your Alakazam first to max the number of FS you get off.

If you really looking for fighting moveset Machamp to battle Gengar is an ok option, i use it and it get the job done. Unless you are doing time attack when Gengar will drag the time due to its moveset is not optimal..
Mind you i am doing solo machamp since its launch so my squad is all around level 34-38 now
Not bad for a substitute to my Dragonite as i change it to Outrage for Rayquaza raid

My team is
Alakazam PC/FS (yes i like to dodge with Zam)
Espeon C/FS
Espeon ZH/FS ( not a good IV, but it get FS, and i dont bother to change ZH to C, maybe later
Exeggutor C/Psy
Gardevoir C/DG
Gengar SC/SB
When i am doing unique challenge (or show how to do it to my friend) i just replace the ZH Espeom with Slowbro C/P level 30
Time to win is not great, but it is a win anyway..

How do you like Gardevoir with those movesets vs Champ? I have a level 35, 13 attack Garde with those moves and haven't put it into my Machamp team. But I'm considering it. I usually lead off with 2 PC/FS Alakazam and 2 C/FS Espeon all at their level 34ish breakpoint for PC and C. That gets me way ahead on the clock and I anchor in the 5th spot with a Extrasensory/Sky Attack Lugia to save on potions and revives. I put a spare Alakazam or Espeon in the 6th slot in case I miss on a dodge and don't get enough future sites off.

I like it, mine at lvl 33.5 now. It is a 100 IV..
Not as quick as Alakazam and Espeon off course, but quite tanky to put in 5 or 6 spot.
But it all depend on how many damage no 1-4 mons for machamp.
Ussually can fire 3-4 DG with not a very good damage..

Gengar is costing you time. Even dragons are better: ditch the ghost.
