Idea: Unlock and test movesets within the Pokedex

I got this idea while reading through the attack animation questions that popped up today. Basically, each Pokemon's Pokedex entry would have a Battle button. When you press it, you are able to test out any moveset that particular Pokemon has learned against a practice dummy or a tree or something.

Moves have to be unlocked so for instance if you've only found 1 Venusaur with Vine Whip and Solar Beam, then those are the only moves you can view in Venusaur's practice test. A new objective for people who are lvl 40 and have completed Pokedexes. Now they can work towards a complete Move-dex.

So my question is would you like or use something like this to play around with?

I would, especially if the practice dummy was a Wobbuffet! 😁

Okay this is good, no need to waste raid passes to try to solo raids and fail.

I'm all-in on this idea and have wanted something similar for some time.

As a practical example: I've been playing around with Entei about whether I want Fire Spin or Fire Fang. The former does more damage and creates more energy, while the latter is easier to dodge with. Being a dodger, I'm curious about against how many more matchups will I be able to get in two Fire Fang when I'd otherwise only be able to get in one Fire Spin in between dodges. If it's just a few corner cases, it might not be worth sacrificing Fire Spin's overall DPS advantage.

All of that to say: It would be a lot easier if I could just practice with the moves in a "training" scenario rather than wasting FTMs and hoping to hit upon enough variety in defending gyms to conduct my experiment.

That's pretty much my line of thinking. People can play around with the moves and decide for themselves which movesets they prefer based on how they like to play instead. It would also be a fantastic time waster
