AS/AA Rayquaza, any use?

If I need a flying type attacker, my choices aren't great: DB/H dragonite, or scyther, maybe. If you had one, would you use a powered up Rayquaza with flying attacks in a Machamp raid? Any other use?

I thought rayquaza is one of the top notch flying type at the moment. Although its kinda annoying how he can die pretty fast with his low defense though.

Rayquaza is a little bit tankier than Raikou. People are really making it out to be way more fragile than it actually is. It's glassier than Dragonite, but Dragonite is a pretty tanky attacker.

I'd use an AS/AA Rayquaza for these raids particularly against a Machamp with Fighting moves. Scyther is listed as a counter for 'champ; Rayquaza is strictly an upgrade on him (same defense, but RQ's attack and stamina stats are much higher), so logically, he's a good counter. He doesn't have the same bulkiness as Dragonite, so I'd probably throw him in alongside Alakazam and Espeon (or even Mewtwo if you have one) to start my team off if I were you, and focus on hitting 'champ with an endless stream of AA.

Edit: you're probably gonna want to dodge enough specials to get off 6/7 AA's before RQ faints.

"If I need a flying type attacker"

Answer yourself that question first. It's not really up for debate that Rayquaza is the current best Flying specialist.

For machamp ray with aerial ace is on par with espeon, do you really need a flying type attacker? For bug and grass there is moltres.

Only meta relevant mon with 4X to flying is Heracross. That's not in a raid and you can even take it down with a bite crunch Ttar for what it's worth.

If it does become a raid boss (doubtful) then you can use it for duo/trio purposes I guess
