Unanimously quit this garbage.

Of course i feel shafted. I didn't get an ex raid pass this time, not because i was raiding the wrong gyms but the ex raid system itself glitched and sent ex raid passes into random areas, as well as using s10 cells and not s12.

What is this garbage? How do you make a mistake like this? If i don't see any real compensation for something like this everyone is going to unanimously quit because it means the chances of getting a mewtwo in hk is a firm 0.

Also, due to the new system, only 5 gyms in hk got the pass and everyone raiding in hk island gets a hard 0.

Stop raiding without your free pass until they fix whatever this garbage is.

Also a note that what they are doing now, if it is intentional, is a VIOLATION OF PRODUCT DESCRIPTION LAW AND IS ILLEGAL. AUTHORITIES SHOULD ARREST ANYONE WHO ENGAGES IN THIS.

In the U.S., false designations and false descriptions of origin are punishable. “Any person who shall use in connection with any goods any false description or representation, including words or symbols tending falsely to describe or represent the same, and shall cause such goods to enter into commerce, shall be liable to a civil action by any person who believes that he is or is likely to be damaged by the use of any such false description or representation”. Don't you already have a Mewtwo? Yours is much better than mine, and I've gone through six.

Yes i do, just felt the need to express them changing the system in wierd ways. I'm more inclined to think it was a bug or error actually, no way they can do this on intent (It's illegal).

I don't have a Mewtwo yet and I'm pretty exhausted. This has been the worst month of Pokemon Go since its inception for me, and that's saying a lot. Tons of people getting invites - third, fourth, fifth invites, even - and I have yet to get one, despite raiding daily and hitting prior locations. I'm not looking for a handout - I'd like to earn my Mewtwo - but there's no reliable way to do that right now.

I hope this 'overhaul' was just a temporary thing, because otherwise it's going to be completely impossible in my area to get an invite (as if it wasn't already). There's significant evidence (posted on TSR) that Niantic used level 10 S2 cells for this distribution of passes, not level 12. In hugely populated areas, where S2 12 cells are arguably too big, S2 10 cells are 16x larger. Couple that with the fact that only one EX is given per cell, and big cities are completely hosed. The lack of clear qualifying criteria (or even consistent qualifying criteria) is immensely stupid.

I don't think the statute cited applies, though, because the premium raid passes -do- have a defined function that they serve and doing a raid -does- enter you in the running for the EX lottery, although your chances are incredibly slim due to a lack of transparency (among other things). A class-action suit would be nice, though, because that seems to be the only kind of action that Niantic might actually notice. They clearly don't understand how to design a game or listen to the community without a tangible threat to their profit margin.

I dunno about illegal but annoying yes. I did get a pass today, on a second account that I set up last summer, for a gym that perhaps I put a mon in just for kicks once or twice, back when she was around level 10. I set it up only because where I was staying with my parents, when legendary raids just started, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get anywhere above 3-4 people together - so the game became beyond boring and frustrating. So many hours wasted waiting for enough people to show up.

I am not there this weekend so oh well. There goes that pass, but I doubt enough people would show up anyways.

Seriously, haven't done anything there since last summer. I had to google where it was because I completely forgot about doing anything there more than once.

It depends on where you live, in my town we don't have a single gym that is able to host an Ex Raid (14 gyms), but with this new method we now get the chance to try our luck at the 2nd Ex Raid ever in our town (1st was back in the testing phase) - we counted 25 invites so far, with 13 first timers, this shakeup is the best thing that could happen to us, since we would've never been able to see that black card again with the official Ex Raid selection mechanic

I'm not a lawyer, but I don't believe that statute is relevant here. Pretty sure it is in relation to trademark infringement. Are you claiming they are violating their own trademark? I assume you are thinking more along the line of false advertisement that Niantic is doing? But even then, I fail to see a case for that. They have never given a clear set of rules or requirements for getting an EX pass (and to the extent that they have, they have made it clear it is not a guarantee that you get one by doing those thing), so you can't claim that they mislead anyone. Secondly, it is something that is free so there isn't even a case for monetary damage. Is it a bad business move that is angering their player base (and money source)? Yes. Is it illegal, not even remotely.

I have received zero ex passes, and because I have no idea what behaviors would truly increase my odds I don't put a lot of effort into trying to get one, too much is out of my control. I'm level 36 and play every day and try to at least use my free pass each day although its difficult when i'm busy. I have decided that I play only for the Pokemon and otherwise this would be a useless game. I keep my expectations low with Niantic and make sure I don't spend any real money on the game so I won't be disappointed. So many things in this game are up to chance that isn't not worth an emotional or financial investment.

I don't have a Mewtwo either, give them up.

Didn't you just get an EX pass a week or so ago? The system is flawed and the "qualifiers" for this round of passes were odd (with people getting passes for gyms they raided months ago or, in some cases, not at all), but good grief, overreact much? Your post isn't an objection to an unfair system. This is just throwing a tantrum because you didn't get a pass.

Also, as silly as the EX raid system is, there's absolutely no grounds for an arrest or a lawsuit. Niantic hasn't done anything illegal. They didn't promise you anything.

I don't think it can be considered as false advertisement since niantic never claimed to be using s10 or s12 or anything specific. That conclusion came from player test using previous examples.
But yes, Ex-raid system is saddening. I don't have a mewtwo, and won't be getting one in near future since there isn't (m)any ex-raids taking place in my country, let alone city or neighborhood. There is no sponsored gyms as well. I really hope ex-passes somehow become related to quests or somewhat obtainable by everyone.

I had to register to only to post this, but when people start suggesting lawsuits to counter a change in game mechanics then things have gone too far. There are legitimate reasons to quit the game and I have also been considering doing so, but this change is not it. The EX pass system so far was bad, people would only raid at eligible gyms, they would spoof to sponsored gyms only to get an invite or share accounts to have other people raid for them at the eligible gyms, this is why I considered quitting. What they did here is positive in my opinion, I believe EX passes should be randomized as much as possible, removing the parks requirement, that would encourage raiding at all gyms and prevent most of this. I'm level 39, have only one account, do not have a Mewtwo and have never received a pass, according to this site, I live in a medium density area.

Why is the randomization good? Mewtwo is the most sought-after Pokemon in the game and yet they've created a regionally imbalanced, woefully inconsistent means of obtaining it. From top to bottom I don't see how this system is good for anyone who hasn't already gotten 3+ Mewtwos through sheer luck and living in the right areas.

Increasing the number of gyms in my area that can host an EX raid would make it much harder to get a pass, especially if they don't increase the number of EX raids or the number of invites per EX raid. This lottery system is the -worst- possible way to satisfy everyone.

I'm not saying it's perfect, just that i believe that it's better than the previous system. Before this last set of invites, certain gyms were designated as better than others, and for some that meant that there is no point in raiding at other gyms, or even visiting other gyms (which makes sense from a certain perspective), so people who wanted to raid had to either go to that small number of gyms (about 10 out of more than 400 in my town) or do raids solo. There are probably others that feel differently, but I consider this an improvement. You're right, it is a lottery and they haven't changed that, but at least now it affects other aspects of the game less. Ideally the whole process shouldn't be random at all, they could make Mewtwo a reward for a successfully completed quest chain or something and everyone would have an equal chance of getting it.

Wow, dude... 1,000's of players finally get their first Ex Pass (myself and one of my sons included) and here you are, despite the fact that you already HAVE Mewtwo, throwing a tantrum and ranting about lawsuits... I mean... just... WOW! In the words of Richard Pryor: "Have a Coke and a smile and shut the f**k up" ?

Go. Leave. The only thing worse then trying to figure out the Ex raid pass distribution system is reading your incessant, pathetic whining. You have a Mewtwo. If that cannot make you happy, why the hell do you even bother playing this game? Go be miserable somewhere else. We’re all quite tired of it.

I raid almost everyday. However, I dont have a ex-pass yet or a mewtwo. Even though, I like to play and I am not dying for Mewtwo because Niantic has to change the system eventually. Anyways, if u wanna quit, do it.

My favorite part is you don't even need to have raided the gym. Spinning the disc or dropping off a rattata would be enough for the latest round.

People complaining that they will NEVER get a pass need to grow up. It appears now all you have to do is interact with the gym. Your ability to hit ALL the gyms just went up (along with everyone else's) at much lower cost. You no longer have to tie your raid pass to a particular gym. Just go spin the disc, and raid what ever you want. The game just got more open.

Continued proof that PoGo is a grand social experiment designed to piss off as many people as possible, while still making a huge profit.

You usually seem to have a pine cone up your sphincter, but this is bloody hilarious.

" If i don't see any real compensation for something like this everyone is going to unanimously quit"

As in "a shit-ton of players that wasn't me got a random possible bonus due to a programming glitch, but if I don't get compensation for this glitch, I ask everyone to quit the game"?
What do you even mean by "real compensation"?

At times I really wonder if your family tree looks as if Picasso painted it.
If you really hate the game as much as you write, why do you even bother?
