Max a Dragonite for Rayquaza?
DT/O, 96% ADS 14/14/15. Currently at L33, can max to L38 at current level. Just in case I need to short-man one.

Is that your highest level Dragonite? If so, I would power it up since it'll be very useful for fighting gyms too and as a generalist in future raids if you lack counters. Unless you're sitting on mountains of rare candy AND plan to use it to power up multiple Rayquaza, there's no need to worry about Dragonite being outclassed. The difference isn't nearly as big as say, Kyogre vs. Gyarados.
Agree with housunkannatin, Rayquaza is only about 100 CP above Dragonite, with different stats. Let's compare:
Rayquaza: CP= 3645, 284/170/191 (a/d/s, maxed)
Dragonite: CP= 3581, 263/201/182
So Rayquaza has a bit more attack and a bit more CP and a bit more stamina. Dragonite has a fair amount more defense. They are pretty close IMO, and will be fairly interchangeable. Of course, this assumes the data miners have it right.
Intrigued by the double flying moveset of Rayquaza - will that make hurricane obsolete? Both have DT/O, the best generalist combination in the game by a decent margin, and while Dragonite has Hyperbeam as its off attack, Rayquaza has Ancient Power. Not a lot to differentiate them, frankly. I guess Rayquaza raids will allow all the players who didn't grind for Dragonites in the early days of the game to get something comparable in a raid. And of course, with Community day on 2/20, everyone and their cousin will get a level 33-35 Dragonite or two if they work at it.
So, I'm just seeing a glut of dragons. D'nite is slightly more tanky than Ray, Ray has a little more attack strength than D'nite. And then there's Salamance, who's even more attack oriented, and has Draco Meteor, with massive DPS.
