Bored of hatching [whining]
Hatching is so meaningless. Im at lvl 27 and only getting 5km egg (Got one 10km in last 20 eggs). At best I get a mediocre lvl 20 pokemon that is not worth investing stardust in. Now with babies it seems the reward is even worse.

For me the 10k egg drop has always been really bad, even the 2k one, more than 90% of eggs I get are just 5k, at the moment I am sitting at 1 of the last 30 has been a 10k, and it was an eevee :(
I don't really think 10k drop has been increased at all...
NOTE: I have spent 50€ on the game, 30 of them on incubators, but I don't plan to spend any more.
Dont be too discouraged eventually you will get lucky on eggs. Best thing to do is develop a strategy and stick to it. I recommend not using your coin on incubators until a double candy event. They might have one soon but I anticipate we will have a double candy event just once a year, so maybe around August 2017. Just use the infinity incubator for now, tank supplies and wait for your chance to maximize your gains.
Egg hatching is a numbers' game, unfortunately. Depends a bit on how you like to play the game and what enjoyment you get from it.
Eggs will give you good IV pokemons and additional Stardust / Candy which you can use to evolve / power up "good pokemons" and to evolve "crappy" pokemons to get XP.
The egg hatching gets me outside exercising some and you need a good turnover rate to get good stuff. I try to turnover my 2k and 5k eggs every day (and every other day for 10k). I've hatched about 1200 eggs thus far (I have spent a bit of money on incubators) and I have yet to hatch a Snorlax or a Chansey. Very frustrating but nice when I get the occasional Lapras and Dratini mixed in there. And when you walk this much, you not only get exercise but you get candies via your buddy pokemon.
All this to say "I hear you", but this is just one dimension of the game among many (e.g., fill pokedex, battle gyms, breed strong pokemons, achieve a certain trainer level, etc.).
Yes, this is mostly true, but also the people that has hatched more eggs is not the one that has walked more or played more the game, just the one that has bought more incubators.
For me they could have just added a new 20km eggs and guarantee from them Lapras, Snorlax or Dratini, the top tiers, because it's very frustating to get a 10km egg for each 40 one you hatch just to see another Pinsir, Magmar, Eevee (i have got like 8 of them) or Jynx...
It's the best part of the game for me. Always have something to look forward to. A lot better than the nidorans and pidgeys that spawn. It may be exactly what I need and if it isn't I still get dust. Though it does crush me a little every time an onix pops out.
It wouldn't be exciting just hatching one or two at a time though, I end up transferring the large majority of what hatches anyway, but every now and then it's a snorlax, a perfect iv, or the last bit of rare candy I need.
Without eggs I wouldn't have hardly any good Pokemon in my team or near as many in my Dex.
Hatching eggs for me is probably the funnest too...just the surprise factor I guess since it 'could' be something I really need (like a Snorlax). Wouldn't mind getting more Chansey's neither (I've hatched 2 already).
I got real lucky with my 1st five 10kms and got 2 Lapras and a Dratini as well so I'd probably say I got insanely lucky already so the RNG should be giving me only Jynxes from now on (hatched only 1 so far)...
Since I walk daily, I hatch at least 1 5km and that makes the game mildly interesting...but yeah, no doubt like everyone, it's a very grindy game overall.
Wish I could do more gyms, but no time and wife would be upset if I got more coins than her...
