Atk, Def, Stamina Rankings

On each pokemon page, where stats are listed, it ranks them. However, the total each is ranked out of are not the same. Why is that?

Not sure if serious.

Ties?

I thought of about ties, but to do that you would need to code it very strangely. By default, it wouldn't count like that. So, if it was done that way, is there some reason?

And yea, I was serious. Was kind of looking for some motivation as to why as well as what actually is happening.

It's not ranked. The denominator is the highest of that stat to exist among all released Pokemon.

It literally says "Rank". For instance, Snorlax is "Rank: 55/180" for attack, but "Rank: 5/63" for stamina.

Ties count for the same rank, but not applied to other existing Pokémon.

I think that's a left-over from the Gen 1 list, where this site would note what rank each Pokémon had in the stats compared to Gen 1. When Gen 2 came out they started fiddling with it, and now that Gen 3 is out (and Legendary's), I think they gave up on it in August, and just haven't removed the code. Now it's just something to ignore.
