so I got very lucky on my first and only Absol raid and caught a 1303 CP perfect IV mon (non shiny). I'm very excited about it, being my first 100% raid boss capture, however I don't know if it is worth powering it up. I would love to get it to level 30, but I'm only sitting on about 200,000 stardust and 22 rare candies. do you guys think it would have any real uses in the meta once it's pumped up?
Since its dark it has a usage in the raid meta.
But tyranitar outperforms it.

i would say no.
Keep it and grind Absol raids and power it up with regular candies as a trophy though. I hatched a 98IV snorlax, took it to lvl 30 at a cost of 66k dust+66 regular candies. No real need for more defenders, but its snorlax with sweet IVs.
I would refrain until gen 6 when presumably mega evolutions will release and absol gets its, and then reassess its value as a stardust candidate. Mega absol, in the main series. Has a relatively underwhelming increase in its attack stat whereas its attack and speed stats gain huge buffs. It will stil be underwhelming since its hp and defense stats remain abysmal and because of the way Go calculates stats, it’s attack will not rise as high compared to other “sweeping” (fast + high attack stats) mega evolutions
And like somebody else has mentioned, it is outclassed by Tyranitar in the time being.
thanks to everyone that responded!! for the time being I’m going to leave it at level 20, however I will try to do more Absol raids and catch them with Pinaps. I might try walking it as a buddy as well. I think sometime in the next 6 months I’ll end up pulling the trigger and powering it up to level 25 or 30. I appreciate all of the advice!
