Largest EX-Raid wave ever?
I just received my very first EX-Raid pass ever - and it seems that almost every possible EX-Raid gym in the city has a Mewtwo-Raid on February, 8th. What about your area?

I`m more shocked then happy by the fact that my EX invite came exactly in 2 hours after using my daily pass on a raid which I was thinking of not bothering. In my logbook I received the raid rewards at 4:48pm today and got the EX invite at 6:51pm at said gym. This will be my 2nd EX raid(1st was on 18 december)
Doesn't appear like it here. Most of my Discord didn't get a pass (me included), and those that did either got it on an alt or have already gotten Mewtwo. I'm sure 95% were claimed by spoofers again. Selection algorithm win!
The EX raids are on my birthday, too, so I feel extra salty about this one.
We have a few eligible gyms in my area, but only one got an EX raid.
We focused on that gym to try and trigger an EX raid there and it seems like it worked. Also, it seems like loads of people got invites to it. I'm in a few PoGo groups on Messenger and usually it's only a few who announces that they've got EX passes, but this time it was a shower of messages by people posting screenshots of the pass or writing that they got one.
I'm pretty sure I've only done one raid there lately and that was a Tentacruel, so I didn't think I'd get an invite, but I did.
Our Discord chat is claiming that there have been more gyms in the state that triggered an EX raid this week, than the ever has been before.
At least here, it is the largest Ex wave ever, in terms of number of raids. They are still working out if it is the most passes ever, but it would appear to be the case.
The groups that triggered EX raids at gyms that had not had them previously, used the recent S2 cell information (centre of the cell in an eligible area) and then hit them hard.
No doubt it was as much RNG as anything else, but it seems that the player base is getting closer to working out what it takes to trigger.
I am not going to claim I am the one that has worked it all out...but I am trying to help those that are putting time and effort in to working it all out for us all.
Hopefully, soon some information will be gleaned that will help even more players everywhere to get their invite.
All that said...the system does appear to need some work, and the lack of reliable information from Niantic appears to do more harm than good. Sure, everyone is still talking about EX raids and how to generate them, but a lot of the talk is justifiably jaded.

The cell talk just zips right past me, everyone knows the EX hotspots here and Kyogre raids were tough enough to funnel people to those "good gyms". I do think they distributed more passes. Before you were better off doing a raid right before they were being handed out. Maybe you were less likely to get one if you'd recently done an EX. Seems there are less limits=more passes.
