Body Slam Snorlax
I want to know about the Legacy Body Slam Snorlax. I've read in the "How to Dodge" page that Body Slam is one of the hardest moves to dodge! Well, it says that Body Slam has an animation time of 0.4 seconds! But currently on the "Charge Moves" page, I can see that Stone Edge is the fastest move with a 0.7 second animation time. Well, it doesn't make any sense! I've also heard that Body Slam used to be a 2 bar move. Can any old player tell me about that move and the Pokémon? (By old I mean experienced, not aged so please don't make fun of that!)

The article is very old, so any move specs you see on it are likely outdated. Snorlax's page says that Body Slam has 1.2s startup. It's not as fast as Stone Edge which is pretty clear if you fight against them both.
Body Slam Snorlax is what we call "legacy-buffed". It used to indeed be a two-bar move, and they made it a three-bar at the same time as they made it legacy on Snorlax. It's the best defensive charge move for Snorlax because it requires constant dodging (which is pretty hard to do successfully) or eating a lot of damage.
Thanks for your reply but there is another thing I would like you to explain. The "How to Dodge" page says that every move has a different animation time and duration. But every move has a 0.7s dodging time. What confuses me is some moves don't have a 0.7s time difference between animation time and duration. One of these moves is Cross Poison. It has a 0.9s animation and a 1.5s duration. A player is supposed to have a dodging time of 0.7s which means that it would take (0.9+0.7)s =1.6s for the action to end. But the duration of the move is 1.5s. So, what happens for the next 0.1s? This is weird! So..........explanation time. Other moves with the same complication are Bone Club, X-Scissor, Dragon Claw, Stomp, Shadow Punch, Surf, Doom Desire, Thunder Punch, Bubble Beam, Ice Punch, Iron Head, Low Sweep, Sky Attack, Foul Play, Rock Blast, Heavy Slam, Megahorn, Submission, Drill Peck, Mud Bomb, Aerial Ace, Flame Wheel, Magnet Bomb, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Draco Meteor, Hyper Beam etc.
Or the dodge window extends past the animation time. I'd guess this is how it works for most fast moves.
Before Gen2 update, I had the goofy idea that they could have made Future Sight with damage dealt and a dodge window long past the end of the move. For example, make the animation time something like 3s long but the damage window start at 7s. This would mean:
-The user would be able to start using its fast move again before Future Sight dealt damage
-As long as it went the full 3s of animation time the user could die and Future Sight could still deal damage.
-If the other pokemon died before Future Sight dealt damage, it would deal it to the next pokemon.
I haven't fought a Snorlax with Body Slam in ages! But, yes, BS is arguably Snorlax's best charge move. It comes out ridiculously fast, has very little cooldown, and is now a 3-bar charge move. Snorlax with ZH/BS was easily the best defender back in the old gym system. Seriously, it was gruesome fighting like five of them back to back with this moveset, I dare say slightly more annoying than Blissey. Not sure how it stacks up now, but BS probably still remains to be Snorlax's best charge move. Unfortunate that he can no longer learn it.
