Over the last few days, Gymhuntr and Pokehunter (for gyms) have been not performing well. It could be partly due to the extra load on the servers with people searching for the new pokemon, searching Aggron and Kyogre raids, etc. But the performance has been noticeably lacking relative to what it used to be.

Are there other alternatives to use from one's desktop machine? As much as I'd love to have a network of observers talking in chat about what's out there, sharing information, and picking and choosing raids, we don't quite have enough people to do that in my community, so we rely on scanning from the computer. Any good options out there?

This really depends on your area. And I'm disappointed scanners are generally accepted by everyone these days, to the point where players pay for a membership to have exclusive rights.

I don't pay for scanners. Never would. I just want to know what's around when, so I can use my raiding time efficiently. Like most of us, I have a life, a job, a family, and PoGO is a fun distraction, not something I want to design my life around. So scanners make that all work better for me. And I only scan for raids, not for mon. There could be a 100% Dragonite 5 blocks from me, but I won't know it unless it comes up on the in game scanner.

Since you have a busy life then sure its cool if you cheat. I mean you are busy, right?

As far as I know, the TOS do not indicate that using a program to coordinate raids is cheating. Facebook messenger with people all over an area commenting on what raids they see, vs. a program that does the same kind of scanning for an area, not sure how this is cheating. I'm not spoofing, and I don't scan for rare spawns (like some other people in my area). Don't think this is cheating at all.

Now, if that's not the way you want to play, I respect that. But AFAIK, it's not breaking any rules I'm aware of.

Maps have a great impact on the sustainability of the Pokemon Go servers. How do you think maps work?

They are against ToS. Otherwise Niantic wouldn't put so much effort into blocking them.

I'm currently playing the Sims 4. Man, it takes a while to get your sims advanced up the job ladder and make extra money. Since i'm busy with work and having to eat 3 meals a day I think i'm just gonna go ahead and cheat now and put in some code for free money. That makes sense.

It's because the new update has been forced. This happens every time the game gets an update.

Ironic, then, that as soon as everyone wants to do Aggron raids, the tool to find them is not working well.
