Yes, high DPS, but extremely fragile. It is a glass cannon.

Might be be wrong but when i did the number-crunching for soloing Ninetales it seemed that for sharpedo in order to outperform Gyarados DPS sharpedo needed to do 2 hydro pumps.

Only possible at around lvl 40 and ninetails not having some of it better movesets.

Sharpedo Could really do with a better EPS quick move and/or a 50% bar charge move. I think one should save 1 or 2 decent IVs sharpedo just in case.

Yee if only sharpedo had a tail maybe it would have more bulk hahaha

Also it has a mega evolution! I personally am trying to save a good iv variant for each Pokémon with a mega variant (sableye, for example)

It was I think purposedly left out of the top dps ranking because of its ridiculously low survivability.

Probably because Sharpedo won't survive to get off a second/third Hydro Pump which lowers it's average DPS to below that of Gyarados.

The same applies to any Pokemon - fainting before you use your charge move lowers your DPS - but the less damage cycles you do, the higher the relative damage loss is when you miss out on one charge move usage.

Gengar's a good example of this. If it doesn't even get off one Shadow Ball before fainting, it does next to nothing, as that one Shadow Ball would make up more than half of it's damage output if it had fainted right after.

Whereas a more survivable Pokemon will have higher total damage dealt that one charge move usage is a lower amount relative to their TDO and so the DPS loss isn't as big.
