First successful Ninetales solo, no weather boost

I was on my way home from a PC/SB Alakazam solo, and I saw another T3 egg about to hatch. I waited a couple of minutes, and was at first disappointed that it was a Ninetales, figuring that I couldn't do it. Weather was cloudy, so no boost for either me or the Ninetales. But then, I remembered that 333-blue successfully soloed one with a lower-level team of weather-boosted Vaporeons, so I figured I'd at least give it a shot with my team (below). I used the no-dodging strategy, as survivability doesn't seem to be a problem with Ninetales (except possibly if the boss has SoB).

The Starmie entered the battle in time to charge up and launch the final HP that was needed to finish the job. That Starmie has some sentimental value, because I caught it wild at my house, with 98% IV's and already having the WG/HP moveset. It was caught at a low level (I think around CP 700), but subsequently powered up to L30.

It took two tries. On the first try, the Starmie launched what should have been the winning hydro pump with three seconds showing on the clock, but then suddenly the "time's up" message appeared.

While it's nice to check Ninetales off my to-do list, I don't think I'll go out of my way to try more Ninetales solos. There wasn't much strategy to it, just brute-force spamming, much like rock blast Omastar. And I really don't need anymore Ninetales, or Vulpix candies. I find Machamp, Gengar, and of course Alakazam solos to be more fun, and ultimately more useful.

Congratulations! I bet your team can also defeat a SoB one. The Gyaradoses should handle it well.

Thanks, but I'm not so sure. Maybe with weather boost. SoB will still take the Gyaradoses out faster than HW, which means I will be relying more on the Starmie, Vape, and whatever I put into the #6 slot, all of which will have lower DPS than the Gary's. I suppose I could dodge some SoB's to keep the Gyaradoses in the battle longer.

Yeah, wait, if it is partly cloudy weather, Golem's with RT/RB should be good as anchors (I don't have many high level Golems and Gyaradoses to test lol and partly cloudy is quite rare during winter here).
