What happens when a ditto defender faces multiple attackers?

OK - the real answer is it dies so fast it doesn't have time to transform. But, let's suppose it doesn't die before it can transform - what happens?

If I recall correctly, a Ditto only transforms once, into its first opponent. To verify, reduce one of your attackers (with strong base stats) to a few HP left, then use it to battle a Ditto (which may be placed by a second account or cooperative player from another team).

One of the things I miss about the old gyms... you could set up battle scenarios by putting yourself into friendly gyms, then battle yourself.

It turns into the first attacker. Battling Ditto is simple, just let it turn into a Magikarp and battle it with other Pokémon.

Rather than waste an attacker slot, turning it into a Tyranitar and then battling it with a Machamp. Or transform it into a Gyarados and then switch to Raikou. Ditto (pun intended) with Dragonite and Gardevoir.

Turn it into a Dnite...and battle it with a Dnite.
You hit it real hard and it has next to no hp.
Then you don't waste time switching...and it is probably knocked out before it finishes transforming.

This is not true.

If you attack a Ditto with a Dnite the Ditto will transform into a Dragonite with the same stats of the Ditto. If the Ditto is a lvl 40 15/15/15 it will transform into a Dnite lvl 40 15/15/15.
