New meta arriving for gen3.

I think the dawn of rock and water Pokemon are ending but still be useful here and there. I believe fire and grass will become new meta. Dragon and ice will be 2nd tier meta after fire and grass. I do believe bug, ghost, dark, psychic, fighting is 3rd tier. Eletric will be useful aka raikou and kinda Zapdos but I don't know what tier it will be as they will be useful still for some raids. Looking at future legendary raids, this is how I think the meta will be. What do you guys think of my assessment of how the future will be? I'm kinda ready for the future as I have level 40 moltres 2 entei and couple 30 plus flareon. fire Pokemon is what I'm lacking more than others(except good fairies and poison but I can charge tm my maxed out gengar s to sludge bomb). Do u guys think I'm crazy for believing this? I haven't seen a question or talk about future meta for gen3 yet so I guess I wanted to share my take on it.

I don't know where to put steel at but I do see niche uses. I currently have one 97iv double steel scizor but I can always tm my 2 maxed out perfect double bug scizors but I would like to see how it would compare to metagross.

Steel hasn't been a great offensive type so far but now there is a target for it, Gardevoir. Scizor will be one of the fastest mons for killing it in gyms if the weather is neutral and obviously gets a boost in snowy weather. Metagross has much higher stats and will outshine Scizor as a steel type once he's released.

Why would fire and grass be the new meta? Fire types are top counters to Regice and Registeel but no other raid bosses.
Fighting stays meta because Machamp is top 5 against the aforementioned and top counter to Regirock and is still the best gym attacker.
Raikou/Zapdos are top against Kyougre, while Gyarados (or Kyogre) is top against Groudon. Grass is a good second against both.
Ice is far superior against Rayquaza and Tyranitar will be the go-to against Latis, although Dragonite will get used against non-dragon type moves and Gardevoir might find a place against dragon-type moves.

That's in neutral weather. Weather will affect everything enormously.

It is clear ~90% of the time here so Fire and Grass will continue to do well in my area.

That would obviously have a big effect. Here it's cloudy most of the time and I haven't seen clear in game even once, not even when it was actually clear out there.

How about Ground? Rhydon has always been second tier in terms of the 'best of each type' lists, with Fire, Electric, Water and Ice dominating those groups. Now we get ground boosted by clear weather, and Groudon will be coming out someday - he makes the other legendaries look like Mewtwo looks next to Xatu (assuming he's not nerfed). I see Fire, Ground, and Grass moving up, not sure whether they will overcome Water and Rock, but we'll see.

Also, a lot of this depends on how Niantic tunes the weather system. They could easily adjust the lines so that there's more balance, on a region by region basis. A few puffy clouds could be cloudy in one area, partly in another, and clear in a third. And good luck getting any Ice or Steel boosted near the equator (unless you're up 10,000 feet like Quito). They will probably tweak the parameters a lot, because that happens behind the scenes, and extrapolating how weather will work going forward for all time based on one week of data from December is not going to be all that accurate.

In short, we'll see.

Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza already got nerfed, it's in the game master. They're still beastly with the nerfed stats though.

I don't know what tier ground types will.be at. It's also boosted by clear weather with fire and grass. Groudon has massive attack stats with all 3 charge move being boosted on clear days. I do think fire types will overtake water and rock types in usefulness in the near future. You are right for sure, weather system needs to be tweaked.

Trainers are forgetting to take weather into consideration. In my area it will be sunny 98% of the year that means Moltres is the new Neutral king and Dragonite gets a step down.

The "meta" is no longer a thing. Sure, some things will still be universally useful such as Machamp, but that will be debatable still. Whichever weather is the most common in your area will determine which general attackers will rule there. In my area it's always sunny and will be 99% of the year, so my maxed 100% Moltres will step up as the ultimate gym sweeper almost invariably.

If it's clear outside, fire will out dps pinsir and scizor in celebi raids too. Also good against jirachi with doom desire or dazzling gleam. Good against regice registeel celebi jirachi. I live in Texas, usa and it has been clear here since wearher launched except for 2 hours last night when it changed to partly cloudly. Fire types will also be useful in gyms since it takes nve damage from fairy and hits back pretty hard in clear weather. Good against dg blissey chansey gardevoir play rough slaking. 4 legendary raid bosses which could equal to 2-4 months of raiding.

On clear days a level 40 moltres out dps level 40 gyrados on Groudon. Just a quick look at pokebattler and that's at least 5 legendaries fire types can shine in. Groudon, celebi, jirachi, registeel, regice. Fire types could be useful for 3,4 star raids too. Metagross is around the corner too. That's another reason why I see fire types becoming meta.
