Rhydon Question

I have a level 35 96% IV Rhydon, RS/SE. Trying to figure out if I should FTM RS to MS. All the write-ups have Mud Slap as a superior fast move due to STAB, but every time I sue it in a gym, it does a lot of SE damage to the inevitable Blisseys and Snorlaxes that I run into.

Or is it not worth bothering given that Rhydon seems to not be so hot in the current meta?

Thanks

Worth doing. MS-SE Rhydon, especially such a high IV high level one, is a good counter into fire types like Ninetales.

You're better off using Machamp and Dragonite as gym cleaners.

If you have a better blissey killer than FTM this Rhydon.

I leave all my Rhydons as they come. Every moveset has a use and, even though it may not make it the best pokemon for each task available for each move combo, they all get the job done without much trouble. All my RS Rhydons get default-selected over my Machamps when I try to battle a gym and most of the time I prefer it that way since Champ is so frail against most of Blissey's best moves and I'm always low on potions. Also, Rhydon gets an evolution next gen, so it's pretty pointless to me to waste TMs on them, but Rhyhorn is the second most frequent spawn in my area, which may not be the case for you.

I TM'ed my EQ and SE Rhydons since I don't like to use them against blisseys and snorlaxes. But since I've done that the stupid AI autoselects my RS/MH Rhydons first whenever there is a normal type in the gym and they are next to worthless against pretty much everything.

Why do you even need a blissey killer?

Anyone can take down a gym with anything.

RS/SE and RS/EQ Rhydon has uses. For example, a Porygon raid where porygon has all electric moves.

I'd keep it and try to get another Rhydon with MS/EQ for Groudon/Raikou/Zapdos and the other electrics. IMO Rhydon isn't quite important enough to merit TMs unless you have a ton of them.

Further, when Gen4 comes out, you'll be evolving them to Rhyperior, so the old movesets won't matter.
