Failed Omastar solo
I failed an Omastar solo attempt today, even with an all-grass team.
Boss moveset was Mud Slap/Rock Blast.
This was my team:
1: Exeggutor CP 2528 L31.5 IV91 BS/SoB
2: Exeggutor CP 2506 L31 IV91 BS/SoB
3: Exeggutor CP 2433 L30 IV82 BS/SoB
4: Exeggutor CP 2623 L34 IV86 C/SoB
5: Exeggutor CP 2306 L28 IV91 BS/Seedbomb
6: Venusaur CP 2168 L30 IV91 RL/SoB
7: Vileplume CP 1971 L30 IV80 RL/SoB
8: Machamp CP 2455 L30 IV93 C/DP (only used on first attempt in last slot)
On most attempts, my first 3 mons were the 3 BS/SoB Exeggutors, followed by C/SoB Exeggutor, Venusaur, and Seed Bomb Exeggutor for the last slot. I used Vileplume in the first slot, and Machamp on the last slot, on the first attempt.
I only dodged Rock Blasts when it would allow me to get off another Solar Beam.
Answers
Swap out the C/SoB Egg for the Vileplume, and try not dodging rock blast at all. Put the seed bomb Egg last, because seed bomb is underwhelming in terms of DPS.
It would also help if you power one or two of the Eggs up to the breakpoint for BS (level 34.5 for a 15 attack IV).
People seem to think C/SoB Exeggutor should be almost as good as BS/SoB against Omastar. It's not; it's much worse. Omastar's high defense blunts confusion's power, which only does neutral damage anyway. You need to exploit the double weakness to grass.
Other than the above, your team is about as strong as the one I use, and I consistently win with 10-20 seconds left, so unless you have a lag problem or something, I have to assume maybe you are dodging too much. The first time I successfully soloed Omastar, I didn't dodge at all, and I won with 20 seconds left.
Looking at simulations, there's no way you should have failed with this team, I'm not sure what's up unless your phone is lagging a lot. Grass mons have a time to win around 150 seconds and your team is made up of mons that are sufficiently tanky to endure the battle.
In any further tries, prioritize double grass with a good charge move above all else. The Vileplume and Venusaur are significantly better than the C/SoB and BS/SeB Eggies. Best team out of these would be 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 5 in that order. The C/SoB Eggy and the Machamp will not improve your performance over these. BS/SeB is the lowest DPS and multi-bar, so last place is a very good spot for it.
