Nostalgia Time
If anyone has screenshots of their Top 12 from a year ago, or just some older screenshots in general that they have a story to tell, please share it here!
On Nov 21, 2016 the formula change gave us the CPs we have today, and I dug up a screenshot of my top 12 back then.
1. Gyarados- my first 100 IV, is now my 9th highest CP, at 3140 (level 37)
2. Rhydon- my oldest pokemon, is now the 7th highest CP, at 3177 (level 38)
3. Dragonite- now ranks at spot #15 for CP, at level 32, 2964 CP, and became my buddy. Dragon Breath, Dragon Claw wild catch at some odd 700 CP.
4. Exeggutor- it had confusion, seed bomb, today it has solar beam. Still at exactly 2473 CP, and my Suicune #2, but way further down the CP ranking now.
5. Arcanine- was my #1 pokemon before the formula change. It was my tanky attacker option for Articuno. I still don't have an Entei, and I would use Arcanine over flareon, should articuno come back. Way
6. Machamp- Karate Chop, Cross Chop, but does not perform that well today. My dodging option for Ttar raids, but comes in 5th place after my 4 C/DP machamps. Very low on the CP ranking now.
7. 'Hydro pump' vaporeon- my second best vaporeon now (level 30, 76 IV). Ranks #30 in the CP list now at 2627 CP.
8. 'Water pulse' vaporeon- now my best vaporeon TMed to Hydro Pump (level 35, 87 IV) #16 on CP list.
9. Arcanine- a wild level 30 growlithe, 51 IV, evolved to this. I still have it, but never used it.
10. Lapras- IS/DP, my first lapras. Today it's been nerfed to 1927 CP.
11. Jolteon- This is probably a Level 30 wild eevee evolve (62 IV) It had thunder, but now it's TMed to thunderbolt. It is now my 3rd best jolteon (after a 91 and 80), and 5th best electric (after 100 Raikou and 93 Zapdos)
12. Kingler, I don't think I have it anymore. Probably had metal claw/X scissor, the previous best moveset.

I have this from January 21. It really shows how far I've come since then. Oh, and I find eevees everywhere! Here's where some of these are now:
1. I'm pretty sure this was maxed at the time. It was my number 1 defender. However, as an under-leveled member of the minority team, defending gyms was futile anyway. Once I hit level 36, I maxed him out because he hit 3003 cp and I thought that was cool (still do!)
2. My number 1 attacker for SO LONG! I maxed it out every level up for a while, but it now sits at level 33.5, 2792 cp.
3. Another to attacker that I powered up to level 30. It was replaced once FS/O became a thing.
5. I hatched the rhyhorn and slowly accumulated candies to power him up. It had RS/EQ and it was one of my best attackers into snorlax. It sits sits at 2804 cp now waiting for gen 4.
8. Alakazam from a wild caught 96% Abra. It had C/P and I was always underwhelmed with how it performed. However, I figured out its role, changed confusion to psycho cut, have it powered up to level 33, and I use it against Machamp and gengar all the time now. If psychic doesn't get a buff with gen 3 release, I'll play the tm game to get futuresight.
10. He took out many Garys in his day. He is also powered up to level 33.5. However, I have zapdos and raikou now so he doesn't see much action.

This is the oldest photo I was able to find, as far back as before the gym rework.
1) This is the only Tyranitar I've ever owned. Fun fact, I actually found it in the wild as a young 91% IV Larvitar during the Rock event a couple months ago, so I actually have some pride in the fact I found and caught it in the wild than catching a Ttar from a raid. It still remains as my strongest Pokémon (now 3615 CP), at least until Ho-oh takes his spot!
2) One of my oldest and most cherished companions, found it in the wild on 11/6/2016 at a Dratini nest I accidentally found while hunting for Magikarps. He was, and still is, my main attacker for gyms, raking in over a total of 7,000 battle victories since I first used him in battle. He is the only Dragonite I've ever owned, and probably will not have a secondary one (unless maybe I get a perfect Dratini). It is now my third strongest Pokémon (now 3564 CP), and has remained in my top row for more than a year already!
3) This 100% IV fellow was found during a shiny hunt (which I failed lol). It helped me a lot with gym battles during the old gym system! It now stands as my 8th strongest Pokémon (now 3281 CP).
4) I found a 98% Eevee in the wild at 11/26/2016, and wanted to get a Jolteon to deal with Gyarados during the old gym system, and the random evolution ended up giving me Vaporeon, which is a huge asset to my team. Currently my 11th best Pokémon (now 3151 CP).
5) This beast was hatched from a 5k egg with 100% IV, my very first perfect hatch! He is now my 16th best Pokémon (now 2889 CP).
6) This Exeggutor was found in the wild literally the day before I found my Dracula, so it's older than him. This guy was the Vaporeon slayer during the old gym system, and has the classic Zen Headbutt/Solarbeam moveset. It is currently my 15th best Pokémon (now 2893 CP).
7) This Arcanine is 93% IV, the highest IV I've found for it, even to this day. I've never caught a Growlithe over 93%. It initially had Bite as a quick move, so I never really used it until TMs came out to get Fire Fang. It is now #20 on my list (now 2772 CP).
8) Found a 93% Scyther in a nearby nest, the highest IVs I've ever found for a Scyther. So, this is my first and only Scizor. I used to him a lot before the gym rework happened, not so much now. He is currently my 21st strongest Pokémon (now 2734 CP).
9) This Jolteon was my first perfect Eevee evolution, done by random instead of the name trick. He was THE Gyarados slayer back then. Sadly, I hardly use him anymore, as he is utterly overshadowed by my Raikou and Zapdos. Currently my 23rd strongest (now 2691 CP).
10) My very first perfect Pokémon. Found it as a 100% Charmander at a nest on 11/23/2016. It has a legacy moveset of Wing Attack/Dragon Claw that I hated at first, but absolutely became fond of it when he once single-handedly defeated a lvl 6 gym of 3000+ CP Dragonites in the old gym system. Still use him very frequently against Dragonite and even Blissey. Now my 24th strongest (now 2686 CP).
11) This Muk was one of my rarest catches back in the day. I found it in the wild as a 91% Grimer. Took me eons to get enough candies to evolve it to a Muk, too. He is now my 27th best Pokémon (now 2631 CP).
12) I actually found this Ursaring in the wild with 97% IVs, arguably one of my best catches. Sadly, I've seldom used him since then. He is now my 22nd best (now 2712 CP).
The closest I have to the rebalance was from November 2nd, so we'll go with that one.
1. Dragonite- I know that it was the highest I could power it up, but mainly due to lack of candies, not that it was maxed out. Had Hyperbeam. Was a wild catch within the first month of the game. Still have it and it is over 3200 CP now.
2/3/4. Vaporeons- Still have them all (with HP) all are powered up to over 2800 now, all have decent IV's (above 70, below 90).
5. Lapras- Hatched this one within the first month. Currently 2345 CP. The nerf was not kind to her.
6. Arcanine- Wild catch first month. Currently over 2600.
7/9. Victreebel/Vileplume- Both were close to maxed at the time. The nerf was very not kind to them, each only received a few more power ups after that (to bring them to level 30). I still have them and put them to use from time to time (useful during Suicune and Omastar raids) but other than that they kind of collect dust.
8. Flareon- Still my highest flareon.
10/12. Vaporeon- Still have them, not quite as strong as the others though.
11. Slowbro- Still have him, either his stats were changed or I may have powered him up one more time but almost identical CP still.
