I think that Niantic giving more Golden Razz Berries to us is that they want to make more money

TL;DR: Golden Razz Berries will be the real defenders in the current meta.

In the current raid-based gym system, people attack gym for PokéCoins to buy raid passes.

However, Niantic implemented a system that gives you several Golden Razz Berries as free rewards, as long as you can defeat the boss.

With these Golden Razz Berries, people can catch legendaries slightly easier. But Golden Razz Berries have other uses: fulfilling a Pokémon's motivation.

A wall of Blissey, Snorlax and Chansey can threaten some players, since the potion drop rate has decreased significantly. With Golden Razz Berries, the attacker can burn through half of his/her potions and revives even by only taking down one gym.

To get more potions and revives, the attacker needs to spin gyms. But what if the attacker lives in an area with very few gyms? He/She has to do raids to get resources.

Now there is one problem: people will soon start throwing Golden Razz Berries at Pidgeys and Rattatas. Meanwhile, it costs the attacker's phone battery, and he/she can be tired of battling these weak things again and again.

However, the defenders can stack up Golden Razz Berries quite easily, at least 4 for doing a tier 5 raid, and averaged 5–10 per raid.

That indicates that the attackers have to spend more time and resources to get PokéCoins. Defending is a problem, but you can encounter more problem when attacking, if you don't have a gym with gold badge near your couch.

Yes, multiple attackers can take down a 3000 CP Blissey easily, but unless you use the "2/9" method or battle it every 30 seconds, defenders have time to feed some Golden Razz Berries.

That was about 45 seconds of my life I won't get back.

No doubt they do want money though. My actual mother started an account August 1st 2016, mainly for my 2 y/o son to throw balls when he had her phone...went close to a year with no balls. Recently got her to level 20 via accrued lucky eggs and xp bonus---completed 3 raids total. Guess what, got an EX pass for Dec 11th. Tell hardcore players raid more and more...but really you are fishing for Noobs. Think this is so extreme during Ho-Oh to get hardcore whales to organize and constantly strive for an EX pass while doing so. Obviously not going to catch my mom/son a Mewtwo--Monday 11th at 1pm and likely many other ineffective players got invites

It is true that people will soon be very liberal with the golden raz. There was a brief time when they were rare. Now the average player will soon have over 100 if they don’t start burning them.

I was getting that way, using them in gyms b/c I didn't care about GR'ing any bosses 1 to 4 and I also didn't bother to GR Entei and Suicune. So far with Ho-oh (5 raids, I use all golden). I have 140 and they drop to me quite a bit. Just did my 7 day spin and no potions...I'm fine holding 85 max revives and 75 max potions, but some others might have to rethink some things.

They may earn a little more, but they will cause far more legit players to quit or cheat. At raids, nearly everyone I meet has three iPhones; time for me to stop being the exception?

Niantic do not care about multiple accounts, so if you really think that it's worth the effort go ahead. Don't be afraid of punishment, there will be none...

Revives and potions being limited really hurts those that solo something just beyond their capability...easiest thing is to try it once or twice, then get your kid-brother to give you a hand. Running your account into the shredder (torching supplies) is the other option
