Major Ditto increase?

I've caught a bunch of Dittos the last couple of days! Have anyone else noticed?

Yep. I've caught 20 or so, after not catching more than 1 a month since the Legendary's came out.

It's (bleeping) annoying. I WANT to catch Pidgeys, Sentrets, Spinaraks and Zubats to get the double XP for evolving them. But then I waste balls (which aren't dropping much for me - I've gone back to the Potions and Berries being my main Pokestop items again, just in time for the double XP/Double stardust event. Thanks Niantic. (Bleep) you very much.) on them, don't get the 1st Ball bonus, don't get a chance to evolve it and get another 1000xp, it's annoying.

Also they've all had IV's below 50%. Every single one. One of those really weird clusterings that Pokémon Go is famous for, I guess.

Wait, what is dropping for you if it ain't balls? From about 100 stops I spin, I only end up with a couple of potions.

I've seen several Ditto, but there are a lot more spawns in general and I have been catching a lot more than usual which can be skewing the numbers.

That is what I figured as well. Hadn't encountered one in a while, but I check my haul from the Go+ when I finish driving home and seem to have at least one daily.

I've gotten like a dozen of them during this event, yeah. They really waste a lot of supplies when what you think will be an easy Pidgey turns into a Ditto that takes 6 throws and a bunch of berries to catch.

The other thing I've noticed during this event is that it seems like everything has been dodging twice as much as normal. Over and over and over again, everything I try to catch would jump then attack, then jump again, so some of them would take 5 or 6 throws just to even hit once. Very annoying, and has me constantly running up of supplies.

People have reported previously that pokemon from lures and incense will dodge and attack more than natural spawns. I'm don't know if that is true, but it could be the explanation if you are in areas with a lot of 6h lures going.

Lure and incense spawns are even worse, definitely, but just regular pokemon spawning normally have been a total pain too. I can barely hit anything first throw. One after another after another, interruptions and dodging, and when I wait to throw during their attack, sometimes the game lags so the ball just bounces off of them.

Yep, same here. Caught a few these last few days including 2-3 yesterday. One was from a Zubat, which was a first for me.

I had 3 Dittos since two weeks ago, but none so far this week, while I am catching all kinds of common species to build up a star dust reserve.
