I'm delighted with my two strong Entei with FS/OH. Thought about the benefits of FT (2 bar move), but the DPS is even lower than FB (which, in FB's defense, is a very good, albeit slow, move that is just slightly outclassed in every way by OH.)
Personally, I don't understand why Entei has two almost identical attacks. I could imagine the moveset changing for Gen3, getting Heat Wave (with a speed buff) instead of Fire Blast - it does less damage, but is faster. Or maybe something else. But Fire Blast is clearly the weakened version of Overheat, and sticking Arcanine with Fire Blast takes it out of the ranks of the best non-legendary fire mon. That's what Fire Blast is for. Why would Entei have that and Overheat? Makes little sense.
But to your question, I have no experience with dodging with Entei, but he's tanky enough so that I don't think he needs it. Just pound away with FS/OH and things take a ton of damage.
